Karen Skibba’s last day at UW-Whitewater was Friday, September 7. Karen left the iCIT Learning Technology Center (LTC) to join the UW-Madison School of Continuing Education in the position of Instructional Designer.
Karen joined the LTC in October 2008 as an Instructional Design Specialist. In this role Karen developed and taught many workshops on the pedagogically sound use of technology in teaching and learning, as well as the annual summer online/blended workshop series that provided UW-Whitewater instructors best practices for preparing and facilitating online and blended courses. Karen conducted numerous instructor consultations and ensured that online courses aligned with Quality Matters standards.
During her time at UW-Whitewater, Karen also earned her PhD in Adult and Continuing Education from UW-Milwaukee. Karen was also very active in presenting nationally and authoring book chapters and articles on instructional design, instructional technology, and online and blended teaching and learning
We thank Karen for her time and dedication in assisting instructors and colleagues at UW-Whitewater and we wish her all the best in her new endeavor.
