Ken Bothun has accepted a position in the Network Operations Center as a Data Center Operator, reporting to Tom. Ken has devoted a significant amount of time assisting Operations over the last year and is now joining Operations on a permanent basis. Ken will retain his duties in jack activation and network field services. Chris O’Connor will be taking over project management and customer coordination for 3rd Party Systems that are server-based, and the AIS team will assume responsibility for 3rd Party data extracts.
Jamey Chapin joins iCIT as Communication Specialist
iCIT welcomes Jamey Chapin as Communication Specialist, replacing Annette Guye-Kordus. In this role she will work closely with management and staff to execute a comprehensive communication program to effectively inform the campus community of technology projects, initiatives, governance and services. She will also coordinate special events, manage customer and governance relationships, and act as the department’s public relations liaison. Jamey will report to Elena Pokot, CIO.
Jamey brings a variety of communication and project management experience to this role. Most recently as a Project Management Specialist – Communications at CompuCom/GE Healthcare she led communication campaigns on software package rollouts, security awareness and other IT initiatives. Prior to that, she worked as a Communication Specialist for the CIO at SC Johnson. Jamey holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Communication Arts from UW-Madison.

iCIT Welcomes New Technology Trainer – Rochelle Day
iCIT welcomes Rochelle Day as our new Technology Trainer. In this role, Rochelle will support the technology use skills of university staff. Reporting to Director of the Learning Technology Center Renee Pfeifer-Luckett, Rochelle will continue the enhancements and expansion of technology training opportunities at UW-Whitewater.
Rochelle is an experienced professional with a diverse IT background who also teaches “for credit” technology courses at MATC. As an alumnus, Rochelle is also familiar with UW-Whitewater and enjoys working with the campus community.

This roles works collaboratively with functional business analysts, business process owners and other technical team members in the development and delivery of IT applications. The position reports to AIS Manager Anand Vangipuram.
An ideal candidate would have experience in PeopleTools, PeopleCode, SQL, Query and relational databases and possess strong analytical, technical and interpersonal skills. Application classes and object-oriented programming concepts is a plus.
B.S. in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field is preferred.

IdM & Systems Automation Engineer
iCIT is looking to fill the IdM & Systems Automation Engineer position, previously held by Varun Sharma.
The primary emphasis of this position is the development and support of the University’s Identity Management (IdM) infrastructure including IdM middleware, drivers and application server components and links to other systems. The position reports to NOC Manager Tom Jordan.
An Ideal candidate would have a minimum of 2 years supporting an Identity Management infrastructure in a lead technologist role and minimum of 1 year supporting account provisioning, workflow and process automation in a lead technologist role.
B.S. in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field is preferred.

Instructional Design Specialist
The Learning Technology Center is conducting a national search for an Instructional Design Specialist to fill the position most recently held by Karen Skibba.
The position reports to the Director of the Learning Technology Center, Renee Pfeifer-Luckett, and works closely with instructional technology staff to support instructors in course design and development, faculty training and development in the implementation of online/blended courses, consulting instructors on the effective use of technology in teaching and learning, and managing the online course quality assurance process.
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, or a related field and experience in effective pedagogical application of technology to teaching and learning with a strong background in education. Experience in applying Quality Matters online/blended course design principles is a plus.
