2. You are entering a client meeting and your boss says, “Monitoring is too expensive, we need to get rid of this.” What is your response? (For your blog post)

According to Freberg Ch. 6, and the accompanying audio and video materials in this week’s module, analysis must be an on going effort due to the rapidly changing nature of social media.  Monitoring in particular is a long term form of data gathering and analysis.  With out it, shorter term, more focused efforts like listening, wouldn’t have the base of data to compare with when looking for potential upcoming trends.  In the effort to save money by cutting monitoring, you are essentially degrading your social media capabilities and rendering much of your remaining analysis efforts moot.  It’s basically like running a bussing company, and cutting out fuel to save on costs. Now your busses and your business are going nowhere.
