Organization With Schoolwork
Staying organized and on top of everything in school for multiple classes can be very difficult. Here are some tips that can help with school organization.
- Use a planner
- A planner is almost an essential item to have when it comes to schoolwork. It makes it easy to reach goals and deadlines for assignments or important projects. It can also be rewarding after you complete an assignment. Write down everything that needs to be completed within the week, and as you complete those tasks, check them off and reward yourself after each one. A reward can be something like taking a break, going on your phone for a little bit, making food, or talking to a friend.
- Time block your days
- Time blocking is where you dedicate a certain amount of time to one or two tasks that you need to complete. Block out the amount of time that you think it will take you to complete a task or multiple small tasks, and only work on that for the amount of time given. Do this for a few assignments each day with breaks in between. Make sure you’re in a space with little to no distractions so that you can complete your projects on time. Doing this will help you meet deadlines and not feel so overwhelmed with getting assignments done because you have scheduled certain times of the day to complete them.
- Take frequent breaks
- Taking breaks throughout the day in between assignments is critical because you do not want to overwork yourself. If you are working on multiple tasks during the day without taking breaks, it can become very stressful and exhausting to the point where you are not putting your best effort into the projects that you are completing. I work for 1 hour to 1 ½ hours at a time, and take a 15-20 minute break to relax and refresh my brain.
