Super Bowl LVI

The Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 in Super Bowl LVI played at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Both teams got off to a slow start after a 7-3 first quarter, but the action picked up in the 2nd. With 12:51 in the second quarter Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to receiver Cooper Kupp. The Bengals answered with 5:47 left in the half with Joe Burrow throwing a 6-yard touchdown pass to Tee Higgins. The half ended with the score of 13-10.

The second half could not have started any better for the Bengals. 12 seconds into the third quarter, Joe Burrow tossed a 75-yard touchdown pass to receiver Tee Higgins. On the play, there was a missed facemask call on Higgins as he grabbed the helmet of cornerback Jalen Ramsey. The following possession, Matthew Stafford threw an interception. It seemed as if the Bengals had seized momentum and were about to run away with this game.

But it wasn’t meant to be. After only collecting 1 sack on Joe Burrow in the first half, the Rams defense woke up and collected 6 in the second half. The Rams defense would hold the Bengals to 3 points over the last two quarters, capped off by a Matthew Stafford touchdown pass to Cooper Kupp with 1:25 that would prove to be the game winner.

  1. I watched the game and also thought it was an interesting super bowl. I was hoping for the Bengals to win and it was surprising that the Rams came back to win at the last minute. I am interested in seeing what other NFL posts you have coming in the future.

  2. I am glad to see that Stafford was finally able to put things together and get it done. That man deserves it. However, I still don’t think LA and the Bengals were the two best teams…but that is what they play the games. Gotta show up and play!
