Make A Wish Wisconsin
I completed an internship with the Make A Wish Foundation of Wisconsin during the summer of my sophomore year. it was a really great experience and I loved every minute of it. During the internship I was completing a lot of volunteer hours by helping coordinate details for events, reaching out to sponsors, securing donations, and working with volunteers from the public. I attended and helped with their events with some of their biggest sponsors and saw the execution of everything from start to finish. The experience working with Make A Wish really allowed me to focus on something bigger than myself. I loved interacting with all of the Wish…

Writing Requirement(s)
As a communications student at UW-Whitewater, a large portion of your ability to graduate is the completion of the writing requirement. The writing requirement is usually a pretty lengthy paper that combines aspects of communication and public relations with a theory and event. Over the course of my education, I’ve written a couple of them and have passed them with flying colors. I love writing and have used the assignment as a way to connect theories with events and ideas from pop culture. In two of my most recent classes I’ve written my papers for graduation about the Fyre Festival, a failed music festival, and how they could have prevented…

Instagram Stories & Social Media Development
Social media is such a large part of a business and their success. Businesses and artists use different platforms like Instagram and Facebook to promote their new products, music, or work. I’ve recently gotten into creating Instagram Stories and promotional social media supplies for smaller artists who have new music out. It’s something I do for free to help network with artists, and it’s definitely benefitted me. I know what the fans would like to see or what would catch their eye, because half of the time, I’m making the materials for an artist that I know or enjoy! I’ve also created and taught my previous employer how to effectively…

Concert & Press Photography
I’ve learned to love every aspect of the ‘behind the scenes’ work of concerts and events. One of my favorite parts of attending shows and events was seeing the photographers running around to get the perfect picture. There’s such a process and story behind every picture that’s taken at an event, and I love that. I’ve been lucky enough to get some really amazing pictures while attending shows and have used them to help promote the artist, network, and show my love for the industry! It’s an easy way to get in contact with those that I looked up to and respect.

Press Releases
As a public relations student, a large part of what I was learning was how to effectively write a press release. In one of my classes, I wrote a lot of press releases for a nonprofit organization that I used as my mock client for the semester. Through learning how to write a press release and news released, I’ve realized how important it is to be concise with my words and get information across effectively. Writing is something that I really enjoy and have really improved in my skills over the course of my education. The attached news release is for my mock client about the important of outreach to…

WishMaker’s On Campus
I’ve been lucky enough to experience a leadership role by helping in the creation of a student organization on campus that benefits the Make A Wish Foundation of Wisconsin. Wishmakers on Campus demonstrates and supports the mission of the Make A Wish Foundation which is, “Granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with strength, hope, and joy”. The organization was started on UW-Whitewater’s campus in 2019 and through my involvement with fundraising and helping plan events, I was offered a leadership position on the e-board! The organization has taught me how to better my communication with people of all different backgrounds and has…

Career Interest
I’ve loved music for as long as I can remember. I’ve always loved the environment for a live show or event, but was even more curious about everything that happened behind the scenes. As I grew older and involved myself on social media, I realized that there’s a lot of power behind being able to communicate with my favorite artists or influencers. My heavy interest in social media sparked the idea that I could become someone who was a part of the team behind my favorite musician or entertainment persona. My love for music and live events lead me to want to pursue a career in anything that has to…

Education
I attended the University of Wisconsin Whitewater from September of 2017 and graduated in December of 2020! UW-Whitewater was an amazing school for me to attend, and I’m so lucky to have received an education from the school! Throughout my college experience I’ve involved myself with amazing people, classes, and campus organizations. The university has an awesome communications program and I’ve worked really hard to achieve academic success on the Dean’s List every semester as well as being able to graduate early! I received a degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Corporate Communications.
