Productivity and Self-Care

Hi everyone and welcome back to this week’s blog on productivity and self-care. I am probably one of the biggest procrastinators you will ever meet, but at least I admit it, right? This is something I have been trying to work on my whole life but it never seems to become easier for me. I like to say to myself that I get my best work done when I am on a time crunch, but I think that is just an excuse. So, this year that is one of my goals to help myself be better. I am nowhere near being perfect at this but I have learned some things that have helped me with being more one top of my work. To start off with is having a clean, enjoyable space to work in. At school in Whitewater I live in an apartment where I love my space. I have a desk, I try to keep it as clean as possible, and I love to keep it updated with decorations. I have created a space that I thoroughly enjoy living in. I mean it is a college house so I haven’t spent too much money on it, but it works for now. I like to wake up in the morning, light my candles or wax burner, make my bed, and open the window shades. I feel like this motivates me to sit at my desk and not my bed and get my work done. Of course, ROUTINE is so important for me, we know that so my morning routine really saves me some productivity. I feel like productivity and self-care go along really well. If you are taking care of yourself you just feel more productive, I mean I do personally. Keeping care of yourself and keeping yourself clean and healthy really helps with self-esteem and it helps getting work done. I cannot say I do this everyday because we all have lazy days but I also like to get dressed, do my hair, and put on makeup to keep myself feeling more productive. Especially with doing school from home and not leaving the house everyday this helps me with feeling like I am getting up for a purpose and then I don’t lay in bed everyday. Keep care of yourself everyone, especially with what this world is going through. Sometimes it is easy to get down on yourselves but, I think right now is a great time to test our limits and help ourselves grow each and every day.

This week’s shoutout: My family, especially my parents. I am lucky to say I am blessed with one of the best families in the world and I truly believe that. I have the best support system ever and I am extremely close with everyone in my admitte family. I truly don’t know what I would do without my loving parents. I owe everything to them and I literally could not do life without them. Hug and say I love you to your loved ones everyday because they truly are so special.

I have never been much of a procrastinator. However, there is a lot I have learned and agree with within your blog this week. I 100% agree that having a consistent and clean space to work in is very benefical. I get most my work done in a consistent workspace I create for myself.

Hi Lissie! Great post again this week. I feel like I really could relate to this post because I used to be a HUGE procrastinator. The kind that would wake up at like 7am to quickly write a paper that was due at 9:30am that day kind of procratinator. In college, I have really learned how to keep a detailed and realistic planner and have trained my brain out of being a procrastinator. I think that your morning routine is great and I can really relate to it. Great post and insight into productivity and self-care.

I really like how you talk about self-care because that is something I need to work on. I always tend to care more about others than myself and that can be a problem for me sometimes. I like how you talk about your family that is real good you have a great support system.

    Hi Lissie,

I really liked that you posted the quote about happiness. I needed to hear that! Ugh, you are so right that routines are important! If I learned anything in 2020 it’s that routines are the most important part of my day.

Great post! See you next week!
