I’m telling you – the task force makes my job so easy because they send in all of this great stuff. It means that we get that much more coverage with that many more eyes and ears out for equality.
- It seems like gender-neutral housing is all the rage [as it should be!], but another interesting option is arising at Old Dominion University, where they will opening a residence hall for gay and lesbian students, conveniently named the Lavender House.
- The Veterans Administration makes an important clarification on records policy, in which medical records will now reflect a person’s self-identified gender.
- There’s a proposal in the Wisconsin State Senate, SB507, that would “require the Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board to emphasize that non-marital parenthood is a contributing factor to child abuse and neglect.”
- Safe Schools, Safe Communities, the State Superintendent’s Conference on LGBT Youth, will be featuring Dr. Dorothy Espelage, a leading expert on bullying, as well as a number of workshops focused on providing the best learning environment for ALL students. If you’re interested, don’t delay because the conference is 29 March!
