The LGBT Task Force met once again on Thursday, March 12, 2015. Here is what was discussed as well as highlights of upcoming events:
- Committee is now taking nominations for the Rainbow Celebration of Excellence awards, please fill out a nomination application for anyone you would like to see honored for their contributions to the LGBT* community. To nominate someone, click on the following link: Rainbow Celebration Nomination
- Queer Cultural Series Speaker: Rob Smith, black gay veteran of the war in Iraq – Openly gay Iraq war veteran, journalist, author, and LGBT* activits Rob Smith will bring his lecture “Closets, Combat, and Coming Out” to UW-Whitewater and speak about being black and gay in the U.S. military – Tuesday, April 7, 2015 in the UC Hamilton Room from 6:30-8:00pm
- Safe Zone Module 3: LGBT* Student Experiences – This session allows you to hear directly from students about their experiences as LGBT* people—growing up, on campus, and out in the world. A great opportunity to ask students questions. Thursday, April 9, 12-1:30pm in UC 259
- PRIDE Week – April 6-10, 2015
