The best thing to do to start your career is by doing an internship! This is true for any job that you are interested in. Internships provide experience and look good on your resume! A lot of internships also pay, which is a great bonus.
As a photographer, I would love to begin an internship. I have been looking into it, and right now it is somewhat hard due to Covid 19. There are still a number of internships open, but some are not taking anyone due to restrictions for social distancing. It can be hard because in an internship, it’s all hands on, and typically someone is helping you so social distancing can be hard to follow.
Although a lot of internships do pay, some may require prior experience/knowledge. Many non paid internships do not require experience. If you are interested in finding an internship, you will just need to look into the detail about it.
Finding internships through your college would be a great idea. Your counselor can help you research internships that qualify for you! I think that is what I am going to do in a year or two.
Pros:
- Resume enhancer
- Provides experience
- Can be paid
- Better possibilities for job offerings
- Interesting
Cons:
- Can be unpaid
- Menial work
- Can feel inequality to top workers
Anyone who is reading this, have you been in an internship? If you have, I would love for you to tell me about it in the comments section!
