5:30AM – The Alarm Goes Off…

5:30AM – The alarm goes off for me to get ready for morning workouts. I am on the Women’s Bowling Team. Every Tuesday and Thursday morning we have lovely 6am workouts. The night before, I pack my lunch, pack up my backpack, and lay out my clothes for the next day. I try to get every last drop of sleep that I can.

6:00AM – 7:15AM – We start stretching at 6am sharp. The same warm-up we have been doing since my freshman year (I’m now a junior). I think we all could easily do that warm-up in our sleep. We went to the weight room and did our same exercises. If we have time in the end, we go upstairs and do cardio until the weight room closes.

7:45AM – 8:50AM – As I mentioned earlier, I am on the bowling team, and after workouts, we get a quick breakfast and then go to practice. Today at practice we did head-to-head competitions against our teammates. Usually, practice ends at 9:30 but, I have to leave early for work. Student always comes first in student-athlete.

9:00AM – 10:30AM – Work part 1! I do graphics for our dining services downstairs in the University Center. I work on projects promoting events in the dining halls or retail specials that are going on in Willie’s or h’EAT & Fire. So, a lot of things you see from dining are made by me!

11:00AM – 1:50PM – After work, I go way upstairs in the UC and do homework. I enjoy sitting in a corner or along the railing so I can people watch! This is my favorite time of day because I have a lot of time to get things done and get ahead for the week.

2:00pm – 4:00pm – Work part 2! After work, I will have been in the UC from 7:30 – 4:00, 8.5 hours! I might as well share our dining social media for you to follow: Facebook: @uwwhitewaterdining and Instagram: @uwwdining

4:00PM – 9:00PM – The day I’m writing this, March 30, is actually my 21st birthday! My original plans fell through due to COVID, so I met my family halfway between Whitewater and my hometown. I brought my roommate with me and we met my family at a Mexican restaurant in Fond du Lac. We spent more time driving there and back than we did at the restaurant, but it was still a great time! I had my first drink ever! 😉

9:00PM – 10:30PM – I got home and started to do more homework again. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I usually am really tired, so I don’t spend as much time doing homework. My energy levels are very low and the quality is of work is not good.

10:30PM – I do my nightly routine: put on my PJs, go to the bathroom, take out my contacts, wipe off my make-up, wash my face, brush my teeth, journal, and lay everything out for the next day.

11:00PM – I try my best to only go on my phone for half an hour before bed but sometimes I scroll on past 11 o’clock. My goal is to fall asleep by 11, and sometimes my phone helps me get sleepy. Usually, it is the opposite for other people but my phone makes me sleepy.

On YouTube, my favorite videos to watch are days in my life. I think it is so interesting to see what other people do in a day. That is where my ideas for this blog came from. Hopefully, you guys found this interesting because I really enjoyed recapping my day!

  1. This was really fun to read! I got a little anxious when you started with getting up at 5:30 for your workout. Way too early. I liked that you talked about people-watching in the UC – such a good activity. Happy birthday!

  2. Wow, I cannot imagine getting up at 5AM to workout. Personally, I wake up at 8AM and I am not really awake until about noon. I prefer to get my workouts in after all my homework is done for the day so I am not stressed and focusing on my day ahead. Your routine sounds challenging but rewarding!

  3. Sounds like a busy day! Minus the 5:30AM alarm clock I wish my days were that busy. Tired of sitting around and I totally see what sitting around all day does to your mental health. Really cool blog!

  4. I am looking to start working out again and If I do start, 5:30am is the time I’ll have to start waking up at which I am not excited for. Your blog gives me motivation to do so!

  5. You have the schedule I wish I could maintain. I have trouble sleeping a lot of nights so waking up at 5:30 would be tough. Then to go and do a workout sounds unimaginable to me. I like this blog post idea though!
