After a brutal and embarrassing loss to the Buccaneers last week after the bye week, the Packers faced the 1 win Texans in week 7. The Packers came out strong and held a 21-0 lead at halftime and went on to win the game 35-20 for their 5th win of the season. Their record is now 5-1, good for second-best in the NFL.
The top fantasy performers for the Pack were Davante Adams, Aaron Rodgers, and Jamaal Williams who was the lead back with Aaron Jones sidelined with a mild calf strain. I think holding Jones out of this matchup was all strategy to get him fully healthy because we didn’t really need him to get this win against the underperforming Texans.
Davante Adams led the way for the Packers with 13 catches, 196 yards and 2 touchdowns, good for 47.6 fantasy points, even better than his week 1 performance against the Vikings which earned him 43.6 fantasy points. With Adams back and looking fully healthy he should continue to flourish in the next coming weeks.
Aaron Rodgers was obviously a big part of this win. He went 23/34 through the air with 283 passing yards and 4 touchdowns and zero interceptions on the day. This performance granted him 39 fantasy points. Just another great performance by Rodgers who has a legitimate chance to win MVP this year, definitely being in the top 3.
Jamaal Williams brought the energy for the Packers with week with Aaron Jones sidelined. He had 19 rushing attempts for 77 yards and a touchdown do go along with 4 catches for 37 yards. A great performance gave him 21.4 fantasy points.
