The Selection Series by Kiera Cass consists of five books: The Selection, The Elite, The One, The Heir and The Crown. In this five book series, the first three books follows America, who not only is forced to enter her name in the Selection, but is selected to compete against 34 other girls for Prince Maxon’s heart, in the Selection, where he must find the next Queen. While being a part of the Selection, America must choose between the man she left behind, the man she is fighting for, and what she believes in.
In The Heir and The Crown, the story continues to follow America and Maxon, with their children, as Princess Eadlyn, is next in line for the throne. In order to keep the public calm, she is forced to follow in Maxon’s footsteps and hold her own Selection. Regardless that she doesn’t even want to hold a Selection, she must choose between her own feelings and what the public feels about her.
This book series kept me grasped from the first page of book one, until the last page of book five. The best way I can explain the way this book series is about, is if the Hunger Games met the Bachelor/Bachelorette. I would recommend this series for anyone who not only enjoys romance novels, but who enjoys The Hunger Games series and the television show The Bachelor/Bachelorette.
