Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling (1-7)

One of my all time favorite series is Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. The series consists of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

The series follows a small little boy named Harry Potter, who attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry’s parents were killed by the evil dark wizard, Voldemort, when he was one years old. Ten years have gone by and he has been accepted to Hogwarts, without knowing he was a wizard. While attending Hogwarts, he learns about what magic he is capable of, his past, his parents past, and even Voldemort’s past. In the seven book series, Harry learns about how and why Voldemort tried to kill him all those years ago, how his parents died, how Voldemort got to who he was today, why Professor Snape is so horrible to him, and how important friendship and love is.

When I was a kid, I didn’t grow up with reading the book series. But Harry has been such a HUGE part of my life since I was five years old.  Thus, where “I solemnly swear that I am up to no good,” comes from. The Harry Potter series is great for anyone of all ages. Usually when I have friends ask me for book recommendations, Harry is my too go book series.

Disclaimer: While I highly recommend the Harry Potter films, I do not suggest watching the movies without reading the books. They left so much out.
