Best Restaurants on a Budget

There are so many different restaurants across the globe just waiting to be found.

Don’t let that smile fool you, that burger and fries cost $23!

Restaurants can be very pricy in high tourist destinations and very populous cities like New York, Chicago and London.

There are a few ways to ease the cost of eating out when traveling.

Find Coupons: they can be online, in booklets or in pamphlets

Bring your own food: bring a cooler of food you already have at home

Go to a grocery store: buy food that you know you are going to eat and be able to cook

Every time I went on a trip longer than 3 days we have packed food along. My dad would make hamburgers, pork chops, brats, grilled chicken and freeze it. He would pack along rice, mash potatoes and canned vegetables too. Of course there would be a whole box of snacks to munch on as well. We would buy the more perishable items such as milk, cheese and fresh fruit/ vegetables at a grocery store where we were vacationing at. All that money we saved on going out to eat we used it else where.

  • This is great advice, it is shocking how much you can spend on just food. It really adds up! Every time I travel I go to the grocery store for snacks and beverages at least. When planning our spring break we made sure to find a hotel that was right across from a grocery store and that our room had a place we could cook and it significantly reduced price.

  • Usually after visiting my family and when I leave home to go back to college, my mom will always pack me homemade comfort food just for me to bring along with the drive back to Whitewater. Of course I appreciate a lot from my family caring about me. Usually I would never be able to make or buy food in Whitewater that I eat from home unless I would have to make a trip to either Madison or Milwaukee but then its a long drive.
