Read more about our Radical RA Melissa!

Name: Melissa Ferguson

Favorite Sport: Baseball

Sports team: Chicago Cubs

Favorite Band: I don’t really have a favorite- I listen to all kinds of music!

Favorite Dining Hall: Ike Shaffers or Drumlin

Dream job: 4th/5th grade elementary school teacher

What I see myself doing in five years: I see myself graduated from school- most likely working in an elementary school in Wisconsin or Illinois. Possibly starting a family as well.

Favorite Quote: “At the end of the day, you’ve got to jump” – Jim Halpert from the Office

Why did you become an RA?: I really thought it would be an amazing opportunitiy to grow and build on skills that involve working with others. I also want to just be a support to anyone who needs it. College is hard and we need people to help us through it. It has been an amazing experience so far.

What is your favorite thing about being an RA: I have enjoyed the community of people in which I have encountered through my staff, floor, resident hall, and other RAs. I have met so many amazing people and we are all here for one another and wanting to see each other succeed.

What else are you involved in?: CSC

Piece of advice for other RA’s: Well, I am still very new at this but I think the best advice I have gotten or have seen done is to rely on your staff for support and  help each other out as well as be positive about everything.

Best story so far: I don’t think I have one yet
