Perkins Stadium will be packed this upcoming week as the No. 12 Warhawks welcome Concordia- Moorhead into town.

Last year the team took a punch in the mouth as the Cobbers pulled the 25-17 upset at home. The superior rushing game for the Cobbers proved to be the deciding factor as they rushed for 240 yards. They also possessed the ball for three more minutes than the Warhawks.

Stopping the run will be the emphasis for preseason all-american linebacker Bryce Leszczynski and the stout Warhawk defense. Last week in their season opener the team only gave up 86 rushing yards against Dubuque (Iowa). Leszczynski led the team with six solo tackles and also recorded half a tackle for loss.

The Cobbers are averaging 373 rushing yards per contest this season. Their leading rusher Rylie Sheridan rushed for 128 yards on six carries last week against Nebraska Wesleyan. Most of those yards came in one play as Sheridan burst for a 91-yard scamper with 10:09 left in the opening period.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Perkins Stadium. Join the Whitewater community for the new concert series being help in the Perkins Stadium parking lot featuring country starĀ Eric Paslay, the show starts promptly at 11 a.m.
