Module 4 blog post: Spicy chicken and lemonade for Gen Z

To create an ambassador program for Gen Z audience members for these new KFC products, I would start with consulting my research, recognizing audience members that are the most engaged and active. However, community members’ active engagement with KFC’s content is not the only aspect that would qualify them for an ambassador program; in order to make this program exclusive, I would most likely allow audience members to apply to be a part of the ambassador program and submit written, audio, visual or video content explaining what qualifies them and what they would bring to the brand. When I was in college, I applied to be a campus ambassador for the clothing brand Victoria’s Secret PINK, and I was required to create a digital collage that showcased who I am and my personality so that the brand could see if I fit in with what they were looking for. While KFC would obviously have very different requirements than a woman’s fashion brand, a similar process could still be applied for finding brand ambassadors.

Next, I would want to make sure brand ambassadors receive perks. The most obvious perk for KFC would be their new spicy chicken meal and lemonade (maybe a certain number of the order for the duration of the ambassador program), but this could also include coupons or KFC merch. The VS PINK ambassador program I applied for in college provided a lot of free swag to their ambassadors. Lastly, I would ensure these ambassadors have the power to create content for KFC. As mentioned in the text, community members engaged enough to become ambassadors will likely create great content as they are enthusiastic about this specific brand.
