Many changes are coming with shadowlands no doubt, but the Shadowlands pre-patch also has a few tricks up its sleeves! Today I’ll be going over most of what the pre-patch covers!
There are many new things coming to WoW with the Shadowlands pre-patch and some of it has never been seen before. Today I wanted to go over these changes and what they entail!
- All characters overall levels are getting squished. It is roughly a squish down to 50% of what your character level is. I.E. A 120 is now 50.
This is great in a lot of ways as it works very well with the idea of players getting more “Power up” time in the game as well as increasing the longevity of the game itself! All other characters not 120 will still be squished but the actual levels have been quite hearsay up until now.
- Item Level squish! As an example, a 470 current item level is roughly 125 in the pre-patch and SL!
All item levels are being squished again so as to make room for improvement without hitting Legion’s ridiculous item levels.
- No more 280% flying!
Flying has always been a big thing to World of Warcraft ever since it was added to The Burning Crusade! Currently the flying upgrades start at level 60 where you get 150% flying, and then once you hit 80 you get 280% percent flying and finally at 120 you get 310% flying. In the pre-patch, 280 flying is being removed. Everyone who has it is upgraded to 310!
- Flying Achievements are gone!
Currently there are meta achievements for Draenor, Legion, and Battle for Azeroth. These achievements are what allow you to fly in their respective expansions and are worth quite a hefty amount of achievement points! In pre-patch, these achievements are getting removed from their current place and will be no-longer achievable. Those who already have them will be given a slight boost to their achievement score and all of these achievements will be added to the “Past feats of strength” category which are no longer able to be obtained!
- Last but not least, Pre-patch content!!!
While it is not necessarily certain as to what the pre-patch content will be story-wise, we do know that it will involve a trip down memory lane through the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, as well as a full set of item level 455 gear as well as a new mount.
All of the pre-patch content is here for a very short amount of time, however, so it is in your best interest to get the gear on every one of your characters as it will probably help you out leveling in Shadowlands as well as be an exclusive pre-patch look that will be taken away. If you don’t have the time to do the pre-patch on all characters, I definitely recommend you do it on 1 character for every armor class in the game! That way you will always be able to transmogrify all of the looks after the pre-patch event is over!
