Vegan Tacos

Hello everyone! As I mentioned before in my “Morning Star Farms” post, tonight, I used the Morning Star Farms Grillers Crumbles to make these tacos.

To star off this recipe, you will need:
-Grillers Crumbles package
-1/2 tablespoon of olive oil
-1/2 cup of water
-package of taco seasoning
-medium tortillas
-salsa (optional)
-lettuce (optional)

When purchasing tortillas, make sure to read the ingredients. Corn tortillas will always be vegan, but flour tortillas sometimes contain lard, so make sure you check before you buy. I bought my flour tortillas at Festival and they did not contain lard.

Get a large pan and heat on medium. Once the pan is hot, pour in the 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil. Then, add in the entire contents of the Grillers Crumbles package.

Stir around the Grillers Crumbles for about ten minutes, or untile their a rich brown color. Once they have mostly finished cooking, add in 1/2 cup of water and the taco seasoning, and mix. The taco seasoning package called for 3/4 cup of water, which is what I used when I made these tacos, but I felt that it made the crumbles too mushy, so if you make this recipe yourself at home, I suggest using less water.

While the “meat” is finishing up cooking, prepare your other ingredients. For my tacos, I used soft, medium sized, flour tortillas, cherry salsa, and chopped romain lettuce. Of course, you’re free to use any sort of toppings you would like! Once the crumbles are done, simply just scoop your desired amount on to your taco shell, and you’re good to go!

I am completely in love with these Mornign Star Farms frozen packages that I found at Wal-Mart. They actually taste good, are good for you, come at a very low price, and are so easy and simple to make! I highly recommend that any and all college vegans make these types of frozen packages a staple item in their dorm or apartment.
