Good Afternoon to whoever may be reading this. I wanted to start this blog by giving a brief introduction on who I am, and what I intend to do with this blog.
My name is Shane Tremel, I am a Junior at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Some of my interests include personal finance, creative digital arts such as website development or video production, anime, video games, sports such as baseball/ football/ and basketball, and cats.
This blog is intended to open your eyes into the world of personal finance and make you see how important finance really is. A lot of people find money to be an uncomfortable subject, but I believe that it is important to be aware of the opportunities out there. Even if you don’t plan on becoming an active investor it’s still important to have basic knowledge on subjects such as credit cards, budgeting, and other important topics.
I should also warn you here that I am not by any means a professional in the finance world. I’m simply a broke college kid who wants to help people out by spreading my two favorite words, “financial literacy”. The information I post on here isn’t meant to be advice (and should never be taken as it), there are far more informed people to go to for advice then myself. Instead, I want to share information that I find interesting, and create a discussion about good financial habits.
I’m always looking for new ideas and would love to have a discussion about anything finance related. Most of the information that I will be sharing on this blog is stuff that I’ve read online, in books, or seen in YouTube videos from a wide variety of creators.
Overall I am looking forward to sharing my ideas on here and I hope you guys will enjoy what I have to say! Welcome to A Broke Man’s Philosophy.

Very cool! I don’t think a lot of students are thinking very seriously about this, so I like that you’re focusing on this. I’m excited to see what you share in weeks to come.
