Here is the upright bass player, Peyton Lencho, of The Brothers Quinn. The four piece folk band from Southeast Wisconsin played Wednesday night at the College Pub to a full house. The energy the band had kept the crowd excited and engaged. The band played many of the crowd’s favorites and they sang along. They played covers of anything from Old Crow Medicine Show to Mumford & Sons to It has been the most popular night so far for the station’s five night Fund Drive event. At points in the night people from the crowd came on stage to sing and dance with the band. The Brothers Quinn got the crowd to come from the bar to dance and sing along. The Brothers Quinn’s guitar and harmonic player, Brian Lucas, also happens to be The Edge’s General Manager which was an extra selling point for many of the spectators. The band considers themselves to be a folk band that plays much more than that. Overall they were a great crowd hit that created a vibe that worth seeing again!
91.7 The Edge would like to thank The Brothers Quinn for coming out and bringing there energy to the Fund Drive event. We are looking forward to hearing The Kane Place Record Club tonight at 10 PM at the College Pub! It is a free event with a raffle and T-Shirts for sale. The T-Shirts are $5 with 1 raffle ticket and $2 Cherry Bomb deal! Saturday night Animals in Human Attire will be opening for Calliope also at 10PM!

Atlas On Strike opened up the night with a high energy performance that set the tone for Fund Drive this week at The Pub in Whitewater. A three piece band with plenty of energy to go around, they brought the rock out of the garage and shared it with an enthusiastic crowd during the fist of two sets last night. Erick Atwell’s drumming provided a steady pounding groove for Jack Sibilski to weave his guitar sounds and emotive vocals to while Matt Trunk laid it down on bass. It was great way to kick off the first of five nights for 91.7 The Edge’s annual fund drive with five nights of free live music at the Pub in downtown Whitewater.
Next up was the Chicago band Blue Dream, who brought their heavy psychedelic blues rock to the stage just before midnight and unleashed a musical odyssey of guitar driven sounds backed by a tight rhythm section that gelled the entire unit. This band brought it! Upon talking to the band, it turns out that they have yet to release an album but fear not, their fist LP be available sometime mid-summer. You will definitely be hearing more from this band in the future; both on 91.7 The Edge and a variety of stages.
91.7 The Edge would like to thank Blue Dream and Atlas On Strike for such great performances. We look forward to hearing The Brothers Quinn who will be on stage tonight at 10pm with an Americana mix of roots music including blues, rock, old time country and even hip-hip. An acoustic based band with a twist. We’ll see you there.

New to the Edge this week is Heart Murmurs by Minnesota’s own, Jeremy Messersmith! While he is most known for his song “A Girl, a Boy, and a Graveyard, this newly released album is a piece of art. Each track is unique and full of emotion.
The songs express the ups and downs of relationships, making it easily relatable especially with Valentine’s Day this month. “It’s Only Dancing,” and the upbeat lead single, “Tourniquet,” are worth a listen to all the way up! Time Magazine says that Messersmith is one of the 14 artists to watch in 2014! Hopefully we will hear more great music from him soon!

New to the Edge this week is From the Spark by the Swedish and Southern American group Grizfolk. This EP is derived from Rock, Synth Pop and Indie Folk roots. “The Struggle” was the first single that was released first and is very upbeat with capturing cascading vocals! The tracks on the album are fun ones to add to a party playlist, the mix of style make for a fun experience.
Although there are only four tracks, it is certainly shows quality over quantity. As a debut album, Grizfolk has many people expecting more great things to come. Last month the band was even featured in “Rollingstone’s The Hottest Live Photos of 2014” already from their show at The Troubadour in Los Angeles January 29th, 2014.
