This week’s DJ hails from the quaint town of Adams Friendship, WI, and could be described as outdoorsy. Jessie loves sports and is a big fan of Kobe Bryant in particular, even managing to find a pair of socks sporting the man’s face. The movie Joe Dirt is a personal favorite of his and he has gone on record saying radio is “awesome.” Unfortunately, Jessie is having knee surgery soon and is going to miss a few shifts. But upon his return you can listen to Jessie Tuesdays at 8 PM and Thursdays at 8 AM. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind if you called in and wished him a speedy recovery either.

On September 2nd 2014, Capitol Records released The Counting Crows’ seventh studio album. Somewhere Under Wonderland, has received much respect so far. Rollingstone magazine has rated the album as 3 out of 5 stars. Critics have said that it’s easy to identify Adam Durvit’s voice throughout all the songs giving them that distinctive “Counting Crows” sound. The songs are filled with lyrical stories, giving the album an overall feeling of the lyrical narratives of the band’s early 90’s music. Helen Brown of The Daily Telegraph calls Somewhere Under Wonderland “their best collection of songs since their debut.” This album is the first release since 2008 with all new material on it. The band began to write the material for the album in early 2013 and continued through the summer as they went on tour. Songs to note from the album include: Scarecrow and Palisades Park. The album is available through vinyl, CD, and digital download.

91.7 The Edge would like to express our gratitude to our departing or graduating E-board members Paul Raef, Matt Conroy, Justin Cunningham and Adam McConnell. We appreciate all the hard work and time you have given to this station to keep it on the air. Without you, we surely would have fallen into disarray long ago.
We also would like to extend our gratitude to any upcoming graduates that have ever worked at WSUW. It is because of you that we have listeners and for a radio station, that’s pretty important. Hopefully you had as much fun wor
king here as the listeners had listening to your work.
Finally, we would like to extend congratulations to all members of the UW-Whitewater class of 2014. All of us here at The Edge wish you the best of luck for your future and hope you continue to make UWW proud!
