Faction rally
Today is the first day of the faction rally, for the next month guardians will be representing their faction in the fight out side the city and the collection of resources in the effort to rebuilding the city. The factions being represented are New Monarchy, Dead Orbit and Future War Cult, each with their own ideals and followings.
Dead Orbit is represented by Arach Jalaal and believes that humanity’s future lies not on Earth with the Travler, but in a great diaspora throughout the universe. They hope that by colonizing as many worlds beyond the Solar System as possible, humanity will become too innumerable for another disaster like the collapse to break it or an enemy like the Drakness to extinguish it. Dead Orbit members are currently assembling a fleet of starships to begin their interstellar journey.

Future War cult (FWC) is a fatalist faction lead by Lakshmi-2, that believes conflict is the quintessential nature of the universe and the inescapable end-state of most, if not all possible realities. Known for their martial prowess as much as their secrecy and eccentricity, Cultists assert that another confrontation with the Darkness, the “coming war”, is inevitable whether humanity makes its stand on Earth or attempts to flee elsewhere. In their opinion, preparing for that confrontation should be the sole, driving purpose of the Last City and the Guardians.

New Monarchy is lead by Executor Hideo and is a monarchist faction that believes humanity should strive to restore the lost glory and order of the Golden age , and that the ideal way to achieve that is by uniting the Last City under a single, benevolent ruler invested with absolute authority. New Monarchists view the Consensus as a tenuous compromise that impedes the path to true progress. They patiently await the day when the Consensus voluntarily abolishes itself and a monarch is chosen by acclamation.

I am not normally one for politics but I feel there is no better time than now to discus and debate our beliefs. I pledged to New Monarchy as I do believe that as long as the city is standing and their are both civilians and guardians willing to fight for it then it isn’t lost. Implementing a new leadership is only going to further the strength of the city and for that leadership to be a council is how everyones voice will be heard and needs will be met, yes there would a single representative but behind one man/women would be a table full of representatives. As a Warlock I may be a bit bias here, but all my life and even farther back warlock have always held power in consuls as it provided many different opinions, power in numbers even when it comes to idealism. What I find the most interesting is that class doesn’t seem to have a effect on the balance between the 3 factions, we may be guardians but we do have out cliques. Hunters have their knives, titans their shields and warlocks their books and we all have our own way of doing things, but when it comes to factions it ha less to do with who you are and more to do with what you believe.
