Meet Marley and Bugsy
This week’s “Dog and Cat of the Week” comes from the Humane Society of Jefferson County. This shelter’s original charter for creation was granted in 1922. Since then there have been bumps in the road, but 1970 is when the shelter began to florish. The organization saw a tremendous increase in the number of animals coming into the shelter. Due to the influx, the society refreshed its mission and moved toward putting more focus on the quality of animal care, rebuilding/remodeling the shelter, and education of pet care. For more than 30 years, the staff at the Humane Society of Jefferson County have provided remarkable care to the animal residents.
This week’s dog of the week is…Marley!
Marley is a 3-year-old black/white Labrador Retriever/mix. He came to Wisconsin after the Alabama shelter he was at began to become overcrowded. Although he is a very sweet and friendly dog, he cannot live with cats or children under the age of 8. Marley is always ready for a walk or playtime, but can be a good companion for nights in.
This week’s cat of the week is…Bugsy!
Bugsy is an adorable cat, just looking for a new family to call his own. The shelter has been taking care of him and making sure he is not affected by Feline Leukemia or FIV (results have not come back for FIV at this time). Bugsy is part of the “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Adopt Them” promotion, which means his adoption fee is only $40.00! This promotion runs until the end of October.
If you are interested in adopting this adorable dog or charming cat, submit an application by downloading it from the Adoption Process page. After filling out the application, attach the completed document to an email and send it to the Humane Society of Jefferson County at shelter@hsjc-wis.com.
