Favorite Sport: I love to pay tennis, basketball, tennis, and soccer
Sports team: Packers
Favorite Band: Andy Grammer, Rachel Plattern, Timeflies
Favorite Dining Hall: Unos
Dream job: Second grade teacher
What I see myself doing in five years: I see myself settled down in a classroom with a couple years of experience, and finally getting the hang of this whole “teacher thing”.
Favorite Quote: And now these three remain Faith, Hope, and Love, but the greatest of these is love. -1 Corinthians 13:13
Why did you become an RA?: I wanted to be a part of something big on campus, a way to change students’ lives. My freshman with having an amazing RA and then a not so great one, I realized how big of an impact they can have on students. I wanted to strive to make a positive and loving impact just like my first favorite RA, while having the motivation and the drive to not be anything like the other one.
What is your favorite thing about being an RA: I love all the connections I have made and the relationships I have built. I am so blessed to have met so many strong leaders, and amzing residents who push me to be the best I can be!
What else are you involved in?: Team Leader of Catholic Student Coalition, Mentor Teaching Assistant at UWW Children’s Center, Religious Education Teacher at St. Patrick’s church in Whitewater.
Piece of advice for other RA’s: Never take for granted a smile. A smile can be the most positive and important thing you do on a daily basis, not only for your sake but for your residents. Your smile may be the one thing someone else needed to turn their day around. Plus is feels darn good to kill someone with kindness during documentation if they start to be rude or snarky, peeves them off just the right amount! haha
Best story so far: I like to call this one “The haunted bathrooms of Clem”. One weekend when I was on duty everything had seemed to be quiet and the Friday evening was wrapping up quite nicely. Just as my Co and I were finishing up our 10 o’clock round, the duty phone went off. Like usual as it went off I thought “OH NO, here we go.) There was a panicking voice on the other end saying “there was a huge issue” I got out of them where to go, so naturally my Co and I hustled up the stairs thinking of the worst. When we arrived we were greeted by the caller holding the door open to see standing water all over the floor, and a sink completely off the wall! Of course there were no witnesses or suspects. The next night, Saturday I was sitting in my room between rounds and I heard this strange constant noise. I was approached by a resident who said “the toilet is out of control!” only thing I could think of “Yay another bathroom issue…” The toilet would not stop flushing and just kept on going. As I went to manually turn off the water, the wrench didn’t fit (just my luck). Needless to say everyone was safe, but it was a weekend of bathroom fun! haha
