About

Welcome to my blog!

Note: I will not be posting new content anymore, but I will leave this page the way it was during the time I uploaded regularly.

Here you will find various photography tips and photo examples uploaded twice a week. Although most photos shown on here will be from a DSLR camera, I will also include a post with some smartphone photography tips.

My name is Julia Graff (pronounced “Grahf”), and I am a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. I will be graduating in May with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, emphasis in Advertising. I’m also the Assistant Photo Editor and a photographer for the school’s official newspaper, The Royal Purple. When I’m not doing homework, you can find me in various spots around campus photographing people, places, and events.

Photography has been a big hobby of mine for the past 10 years, starting when I received my very first digital camera as a Christmas gift in 2008. I gradually moved to taking my photos on various iPods and iPhones I owned over the years, and also use a Fujifilm Polaroid camera for special occasions. Nowadays, I use a Canon DSLR. I have only been doing DSLR photography for about a year and a half, but I have learned a lot through practice and tips from other photographers. Through sharing the helpful information I have picked up, I hope to spark an interest in photography in the readers of this blog.

All photos used on this site are my own.
