Packers vs. Cowboys Week 5 Pre-Game Analysis

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott

A match-up that fans have been waiting for all year is finally here. This Sunday the Green Bay Packers travel to Dallas to face a non-divisional rival in the Dallas Cowboys. Both teams have been great thus far this season and come into the game with a 3-1 record. Both teams are coming off of their first loss of the season in the previous week. The Packers lost to the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night football last week by a score of 34-27, while the Cowboys are coming off of a 12-10 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Both teams will be hungry for a win coming off of their first losses of the season and would much rather prefer being 4-1 rather than 3-2. Coming into this game the Dallas Cowboys are 3.5 point favorites according to ESPN, mostly due to the fact that the game is in Dallas. The most important thing in this game for the Packers to do is to stop the run, because the Packers are allowing 140 rush yards per game this season, and Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot is among the most talented backs in the league. The Packers will be taking a large hit to their offense, dominant wide receiver Davante Adams suffered a foot injury against the Eagles last week and is not expected to play vs. the Cowboys. However, the Cowboys will be taking a big hit to their offensive line as star offensive tackle Tyron Smith will not be taking the field. This makes you wonder if the Cowboys offensive line will be able to handle a Packers pass rush that has had a great season thus far. This should be a great match-up between two NFC powerhouses that are off to a great start this year, I predict a final score of Green Bay 31 and Dallas 28. Stay tuned for a recap of this game early next week! Go Packers!
