“Frontline: The Facebook Dilemma” videos by James Jacoby

All three of these videos correlate with each other. Beginning with the first video transmedia featuring Henry Jenkins. The video talked about the transition of media and the ease of accessibility to spread stories. Technology allowed people to share their stories in new ways such as wiki, click-bait, and social media. All of these tools allow anyone to tell their story. The second video, an interview of Henry Jenkins focused on the media convergence movement. The audience picked what format they want to consume their content at. We live in a world where the media is almost everywhere. The final video tilted, “Building a storyworld – Transmedia Storytelling: Narrative worlds, emerging technologies, and global audiences”, is about building a story. It relates to the previous videos due to the need to choose what media platform to distribute the story first to. The process being if the story is good enough, be able to transmedia it. Example you made a novel, if your novel is successful it will turn into a movie. If the movie gets high ratings it leads to toys, video games, audiobooks etc. The key is how well the story will translate on various media platforms. Thus the convergence is the spread of this world building story and the fanbase of the story choosing where to consume the content at.
