It only took approximately three hours to surpass 50 ads, it may have been sooner than that had I watched the Chiefs Vs Bills football game in its entirety. The top three ads that I remember are the ad for the new Samsung S24 series phones, the Apple Vision Pros and the State Farm commercials. I remember the Samsung ad because I am big into technology and Samsung now has a pretty decent AI system integrated into their phones that allows you to do some amazing things with pictures and videos. What makes Apples Vision Pros memorable is that they are a new virtual reality, and while Apple isn’t the first company to create the VR goggles it was very interesting to see them enter that market when their main sellers are iPhone and MacBook. Finally, the State Farm commercials are sometimes comical and bring in athletes that you are a big fan of which makes you want to watch the ad.

How long did it take until you reached 50?
It took me about 5 hours throughout the day to reach 50 ads. Most of the ads I saw today were on Instagram, Twitter, or Snapchat. On Instagram and Twitter, I noticed that I saw an ad every 3 to 4 posts I scrolled past, which is quite a large amount when you are counting each ad you come across. I found it shocking how many times I would have to stop to record a new ad when scrolling.
List the top three ads you remember and why?
One of the top three ads I remember was for Hello Fresh, which stood out to me because I was looking at their service the night before and then started getting ads for it. Another ad that stood out to me was the Purina ad I got since that is the pet food brand I purchase for my cat. The last ad that stood out to me was for the NFL. It stood out to me because this morning I was looking at hashtags on Twitter about last night’s NFL game when I normally don’t look at football content, then after that I received multiple NFL ads in a row.

How long did it take until you reached 50?
It took me a little over 4 hours to reach 50 ads which really surprised me. Most of the ads I saw were via TV because I watched most of the Chiefs vs. Bills game. As commercials would appear, I often found myself scrolling on my phone, so I probably could have surpassed 50 throughout the course of the game if I wasn’t on my phone.
List the top three ads you remember and why?
The ad I most remember was Gronk’s and John Cena’s commercial for Fan Duel. It aired during an important time of the game when I was tuned in so it locked in my brain. It also talks about marketing throughout the ad, as they are marketing which was ironic. Another ad I remember was the State Farm commercial with Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. They are two
sports icons so it was pretty easy to remember this one. The final ad I remember is one I have seen on Tik Tok and it was a Reese’s commercial. I’m not quite sure why I remember this one, but because it was one of the final ones I wrote down maybe it stuck. Something I noticed when I was focusing on ads, was the amount of free marketing companies receive from TikTok. If a popular account is wearing a brand of sweater. Chances are there are thousands of comments wondering what brand of sweater that is which creates major traction.

How long did it take until your reached 50?
It took me just under 6 hours to reach 50 ads. This kind of surprised me because I though with how many ads there are out there that it should not have taken me this long. Most of the ads I saw were on social media because I spend a lot of time on Instagram and Tik-Tok. Another thing that surprised me is that since I was counting ads and looking out for them, there seemed to be one like every 5 posts which.
List the top three ads you remember and why?
The ad that I remember the most was a goldfish ad for their new crisps. This stood out to me the most because I was hungry at the time and I even added it to my shopping list. The second ad that I remember was an add on Instagram about Gatorade teaming up with the NFL to create team inspired bottles that you could buy. This stood out to me because I really like football and I noted that as something that I wanted. The third ad that I remember was an add for Gametime(An app that you use to buy tickets to events). This stood out to me because they were advertising tickets to a Milwaukee Bucks game for only $28 and I had been planning on going to a Bucks game this year.

How long did it take until you reached 50?
It took me approximately four hours to reach 50 ads. I was traveling to the airport to drop off a friend who had visited over the weekend and saw many billboards on the interstate. I was driving so as I saw a billboard, I had a little help from a friend of mine to tally up the score. I was also on my phone for quite some time but that was after I made the drive to the airport. I noticed an ad roughly every 4 scrolls. I went on social media such as Instagram and TikTok and saw a few ads. I also watched a little TV later in the evening before I went to bed. According to science, our brain activity is unconscious 95% of the time. After becoming aware of all of the ads around me due to this blog, I was shocked to see how much marketing was all around me!
List the top three ads you remember and why.
I just moved to Florida and I thought the stereotype that Floridians were bad drivers was a little harsh; I was wrong. I have seen countless car accidents compared to when I lived in Chicago. The top ad I remember seeing is the personal injury attorney billboards on the interstate. The most common one I saw is the “411 PAIN” ad. The personal injury attorney billboard ads are almost every other billboard; I’m not kidding! Many states limit the type of advertising attorneys can do but the Florida Bar has fewer rules for attorney advertising. There are also many loopholes in the insurance laws in Florida. Supposedly, it is easy to get a settlement depending on an individual’s policy. The second ad I remember seeing is for Discovery Cove. This makes sense because I was driving to the Orlando airport and Discovery Cove is just northeast of the airport. I not only remember this ad because of the amount of times I saw it but also because I went to Discovery Cove last year. The ad had very vibrant colors and showed a picture of the beautiful beach. I had such a good experience that every time I see the billboard, I want to go back! The third advertisement I remember seeing is for the Blue Spring State Park just minutes from downtown Orlando. I think I remember this ad because it has been on my bucket list for so long to go there!

How long did it take until you reached 50?
It took me less than a day to reach 50 advertisements in the day. The majority of ads I found were found through various social media apps. The social media where ads were most prevalent was TikTok. When I was scrolling through my for you page, there were lots of influencers talking about beauty products or other people posting products they bought and the link to them so that they could get a commission. It was shocking to realize how many ads I would see “hidden” in videos of someone trying to get commission. The second social media app that had a lot of ads was Instagram and Facebook. Some of these would be heavily marked to things I am interested in, but Facebook had more variety of products and services marketed.
List the top three ads you remember and why?
The first ad I remember is one for the Tarte lip product on TikTok. Almost every 5 videos I scrolled passed someone was talking about how it was on sale. I was able to remember it because I saw it repetitively. The second one was skims ads on Instagram. These ads always capture my attention because they always are coming out with new collections and partnering with famous celebrities or influencers. Finally, I always remember the ads for donating to animals in need because the commercials are always so sad and I have to turn off the tv or look away.

It took about 30 minutes for me to reach 50 ads. I was just sitting in my bedroom where I have access to my phone, a radio, and a TV, and it was pretty easy to scroll through social media apps, turn on the radio, and turn on the TV, and see and hear plenty of ads right away. There is an ad on social media apps pretty much once every 5 posts, and there can be as much as 10 ads during one commercial break on the radio or TV.
One ad that I remember seeing is a leaf filter ad on TV which prevents leaves from clogging the gutters on your house. I’ve seen ads for this product quite a few times in the past, so this company seems to do a lot of advertising for their product. Another ad I remember hearing on the radio is a Menards ad. If you live in the Midwest, the “save big money at Menards” jingle is probably very familiar to you. An ad on Instagram I remember seeing was for NFLShop.com. Ads on social media seem to usually align with the accounts you follow, and since I follow a lot of sports and football Instagram accounts, it makes sense that I would be getting an NFL advertisement.

It took me roughly 8 hours to reach 50 ads. This was also with skewed numbers. With being at school, and not having to go anywhere I got to 50 ads slower than I normally would have. This because I did not pass any billboards like I normally would have, or seen any in store ads. I am aware of ads everywhere and how there seems to be more and more of them each day. It still amazed me how quickly I got to 50 ads. The top three ads that stood out to me were the State Farm, Progressive, and Wendy’s ads. These ads stick out to me because each ad has created characters and funny scenarios in each commercial. Further, they have catchy slogans and sometimes celebrity appearances, mostly athletes. A final thing that stood out to me is that I do not use any off them, and I probably will not ever go to Wendy’s. I thought it was interesting that even though their commercials are the most enticing, I haven’t used their products/services.

I would say it took about 6 hours to reach 50 ads. It was pretty easy to do when I was looking at my phone or doing things other than school. When I wake up, I usually check my phone and see if anything interesting or new is going on social media. That was a very easy way to reach 27 ads. Most of them are clothing brands or influencers advocating their brands or services. When I get ready in the morning or make breakfast I have the TV on and I was able to count 12 ads. While I am doing my school work I rarely see ads because I am mainly on Canvas but when I take breaks or make lunch I watch YouTube and the YouTube ads are very quick to add up. The top ads that I remember would have to be ads for PacSun, Iman Gadzhi, and the NBA. These ads were on Instagram and TikTok. I follow all three and these are the ones that stood out to me the most. I like to follow the Milwaukee Bucks and the NBA posted about the Bucks firing their head coach. I clicked on their page and there were ads about the NBA games tonight and the NBA Shop. I also saw an ad for PacSun and I clicked on it because I saw a sweatshirt that I liked. The ad for Iman Gadzhi was on Instagram. I follow him on Instagram and saw some posts he made about his career and his business. These ads capture my attention because they are what I am interested in. Many ads that I see, I don’t even realize they are ads because I don’t pay much attention to them.

The first step I took to start this assignment was went and watched tv for a couple hours. Yes, I did use this assignment to “slack off” to help me complete the task at hand. I’ll be honest I don’t watch too much tv, but I knew that is going to be where you find the most ads and the entertainment is just a bonus. I would say it took roughly 5 hours for me to see 50 ads mainly through tv, surfing the web, and scrolling through social media. Most of the ads didn’t catch my attention, only a select few. The all-states commercials always stand out to me because of all the crazy accidents that normally go on in the background. Those ads have always been the most entertaining in my eyes. Whenever an All-state ad comes on I make sure to give it my full attention. The new Iphone and Samsung commercials also seem to tower over other ads at least to me. One reason can stem from the fact that I work for Cellular Sales Verizon, so I am constantly around smartphones all day and these comericals could very well affect my day to day at the workplace. Usually, the commercial revolves around a certain cellphone carrier so I am always curious to see what other carriers are providing to their clients.

How long did it take until you reached 50? I think it took me about 9 hours to complete because most of my day is spent at work and outside. I tend to stray from any form of technology and social media until late at night. The places I saw the most ads on are billboards as I often travel over an hour for work each day. The other highest place in which I saw ads was online due to scrolling my email and ads popping up through there. The top ad that I remember is the Appleton Auto radio ad. This ad specifically drew my attention because of the energy and catchiness of the ad. The ad continuously repeated the same few phrases but it was something I couldn’t get out of my head after hearing it. The second ad that was most memorable was a Captial One commercial feat Slash. I think that this one is catchy for obvious reasons but using a famous person/song to make their point as to why you should bank with Capital One was very memorable. This one specifically stuck with me also because my dogs could not stop barking at the ad when it came on TV. The last ad that was most memorable was the billboard signs for dispensaries in Upper Michigan. Because I live so close to the UP these billboards are less than 2 miles apart for probably 100+ miles until you get into Michigan. These billboards are everywhere and more particularly the Billboards from the Fire Station that state, “Legal Cannabis: So close you can almost smell it” is interesting because it isn’t something you would expect from the Fire Station.

I just realized it took me less than 5 hours to reach 50 ads. I know how ads can impact me, so I usually distract myself from watching them by using the restroom, getting water in the kitchen, or even checking my phone. Still, it gets more complex when I am presented with interesting topics. Since I tend to look up everything and anything online, watch videos, listen to my favorite songs on YouTube, and use my regular free apps on my phone, I easily get exposed to many ads I was only aware of once I get to do this assignment. The first ad that got my attention was a letter I received in the mail from Nielsen. I could see a five-dollar bill through the transparent part of the envelope, making me wonder what it was. If the bill was fake or real? And why would I receive it? After reading the letter, I realized I was requested to be part of a survey and take the five dollars as an appreciation. They also promised to send me fifteen dollars if I completed the survey and provided my personal information, which I did. The second one is from a YouTube ad about the brand coach, which I have no interest in because it is expensive and not worth it for me right now. I remember this specific ad even though I do not like it because I have seen and heard it many times. And the third ad is about the Dailywire channel, which I subscribed to their members’ YouTube channel. Sometimes, I find myself watching a one-hour ad from Dailywire, and I receive some satisfaction because I enjoy their content.

It took about 4 hours to get to 50 ads. This was yesterday morning. I had to go to the doctor’s an on the highway, I saw some billboards. I know for sure, that if I were to of stayed home that morning and worked on schooling/my business, I think I could have hit 50 within an hour and a half. online advertising is easily the most pervasive form of marketing to I encounter.
I saw an ad for a larger blanket than usual; some of the skits in the ad reminded me of scenarios my girlfriend and I face and it was rather funny. I can’t say I had three ads in particular stick out to me. Usually when I see an ad I remember the company advertising and what they do. In that regard, I guess they work on me. That said, I am conscious about trying to skip ads whenever possible and I do have an ad blocker that works pretty well. Ads that stick in my head are ones that are relative to my business and what I do. Specifically, analytics programs and services catch my eye.

It took me about about 8 hours to reach 50 ads. Most of the ads I saw were from Tiktok, other wise some from online and others from Tv. When I watch TV, it is usually sports. This is where they can easily influence watchers and will not miss a chance to promote something. As well as on billboards. I saw my fair share of ads while commuting to work on 1-94. This is a great marketing strategy since they are very hard to miss, even when you are not even watching for them and they still happen to catch your eye. Lastly, TikTok is where most of my ads came in. Not only does TikTok have ads in-between videos, they now have their own shop, where people can promote items. These videos come up within every 10 scrolls on the app.
One ad I remember in particular was on my drive to work traveling to Milwaukee. I saw a billboard for an “adult” club if you will. I remember this because it was bright yellow, had a huge silhouette of a lady and had its name written in big letters across the top and the address beneath it. I noted this because I found it interesting that this type of ad was promoted directly in the middle of one of the busiest roads. I also noted that while watching NBA games, there was ads for sport betting. I remembered this because not only is sport betting getting more popular, now it is getting promoted by these sport channels. Finally, I remember an ad on Tik tok for skincare. I remembered this because I use these products. The brand LaRoche-Posay made an ad pretending to cut their product in half saying “is it cake” This is a greta marketing strategy because not only is it something most of this generation is fixated with, it is taking a trend, or a well known “joke” and turning it into a promotion.

I reached fifty advertisements quickly. It only took about an hour to get there because there were many packages in my home pantry. I more than likely missed many advertisements, and most of the time, it slipped my mind to look for them. There were a few ads that stood out to me. One of them was a billboard for Wilderness Resorts in Wisconsin Dells. The big reason that that one stood out to me was because that is where I work. I never realized how many billboards they put up along the road; some are also in the middle of nowhere. Another advertisement that popped out to me was Etihad Airways. It was the first one I saw in my days of counting, as it is on my favorite soccer jersey, and I had it hanging up. The last one that caught my eye was ads for metal posters from Displate. These were the ads I saw the most, and every time I saw them, they catered to what I liked, such as soccer and Star Wars.

It only took a couple hours to reach 50. Watching a Bucks game and scrolling social media are both things that involve seeing lots of ads. Even just sitting in my room i can see hundreds of advertisements a day. Even just going to a word counting website for this post there was 4 ads. Advertisements are so commonplace in America that i don’t even register them a lot of the time.
One ad that stands out is an apple iPhone 15 commercial with an outlet singing a sad song because the phone doesn’t need to be charged as often. It stood out to me because it was really weird, also I see it all the time watching football. I get Nike ads for a Jordan Love Jersey on Instagram all the time and it stands out because I want one. A third ad that stands out to me is on Instagram and Tiktok and it is for some game about surviving in the cold. It stands out because I watch it every time even though I can skip it but I have no interest in playing it.

It took me about a day to reach 50 Ads. I was very surprised with how short of a time it took me to do this, but when looking at my results, it is understandable how that happened. Most of the ads I saw were through social media. I am not on my phone a lot, but when I am, I have a tendency to scroll through apps such as Instagram, Tiktok, and Snapchat. The other big one was TV. I tend to watch a lot of sports which means commercial breaks, and other random ads. Most of those ads were food, services, and general promotions. I have a feeling I also missed ads throughout my day because I am so used to seeing them, that I overlook them at this point unless they catch my eye.
When thinking about ads that were in my feed, most of them were catered to my content. For example, Built Bars, came up a few times on Instagram feed. I am super into fitness, and often find myself searching for quick easy snacks that align with my goals. So, seeing this ad caught my eye. Another ad that caught my eye was a Sephora ad also on Instagram. I caught myself stopping to look at it because I saw the word “Free”. This was a big realization for me because it made me feel very naive. I typically breeze through ads, but seeing the word “free” spiked my attention. It was for their birthday rewards program, but I thought it was interesting. Lastly, my top third ad was for TurboTax. I feel like this is a recurring company that I will see on TV, but always is prevalent around tax season. Another ad I thought was interesting were my two package ads. These were grocery store coupons mailed to my house, that also caught my eye because of the deals.

It took me about 13 hours to reach 50 ads. I do not listen to the radio on my way to work, instead I put on YouTube and listen to videos about the Chicago Bears, Bloomberg, or anything to do with economics or current/historical events. I have a subscription to YouTube Premium, so I do not listen to any advertisement unless the content creator decides to promote a product within their video. Most of the advertisement I encountered happened after my shift at work. It is using from watching television, scrolling through Facebook/Reddit or when I go shopping for groceries/pet supplies. The ad I remember the most is the 3 billboards I drive past on my way to and from work. They are Dunkin’ ads. They had Justin Fields from the Chicago Bears on them, but it appears they have removed those for a more Christmas-y look. I also see E*Trade ads every time I visit the Yahoo! Finance website (I visit that site every day). I enjoy keeping up with financial news and what the Federal Reserve is up to. Lastly, the Rachael Ray Nutrish brand cat food stands out because that is the food my cat likes to eat so I definitely cannot forget that.

It took me about 10 hours to reach 50. This is mainly because I was working on homework for a few hours and wasn’t moving around or scrolling through media. I then had practice for a few more hours. It wasn’t until I could move freely from place to place that I noticed the ads around me. When I was able to sit down, ads also started flooding my social media feeds.
The most prominent ads I remember are the ones for DLK that are posted all over the Gym at the Williams Center. Everywhere you look, there is a DLK billboard, sign, or t-shirt advertising the company. The second most memorable ad was for Amazon Prime, which played before the movie I watched with my roommates. I don’t watch TV often, so it stood out to me because it was one that I had to sit down and concentrate on before the movie. The third most memorable ad was the endless Raising Canes ads I get on my Instagram feed. Since I can’t get Canes in Whitewater, I often have to wait months to purchase it at home. The consistent reinforcement I get from them is a foolproof way to get me into the door.

It took a total of around 6 hours to reach 50 ads. These 6 hours were spent at work and in the evening at home. At work, I am allowed to wear headphones and listen to music or podcasts. As a podcast fan, I listened to a few of my favorite shows throughout my short 3 hour shift. These podcasts each had between 4-12 total advertisements each! I put these ads under the “Radio” section of my diary. After work, my wife and I enjoy watching an episode or two of the cooking show “Masterchef”, (if you are reading this, you can add another advertisement to your total by me mentioning this show). We stream this show on Hulu, where there are a number of ads that play throughout our episode. Since we watched two episodes, we watched around 12 total minutes of ads! This is what made up my “TV” section of the diary.
The ad that I remember the most would be the billboard for a cleaning service right outside of the front of my workplace. The location of this ad is why it sticks out the most to me. Another ad that is burned into my memory would be an add for the Apple Watch. This ad seems to play in every advertisement section on Hulu. It also has a catchy song that plays throughout the ad. The final ad that I remember the most is for a sporting goods company that sponsors one of my favorite podcasts. The host of this podcasts mentions this company during every show, so I have the ad script memorized myself at this point.

It took me about 4 1/2 hours to get to 50 ads. I work with a T.V. in front of me with CNBC on so it plays commercials on the hour. Most of them are regarding class action lawsuits, investment related ads like gold or reverse mortgages, and upcoming shows that are going to appear on CNBC. However, there is a bathroom remodel commercial that comes on more than any other commercial called Jacuzzi Bath Remodel. I also take some phone breaks and saw most of the ads coming from Instagram. Instagram shows an ad for every handful of pages I flip through. As you can suspect, most of them are targeted around pages I’ve visited or ads I’ve clicked on in the past. The first ad that comes to mind is a Viouri ad on Instagram. It’s a clothing line that is intended for people that are active either in or out of the gym. What got me to click on the ad in the first place was an influencer saying that they were the most comfortable pants they’ve ever worn. Once I saw that, it just kept showing up on my feed until one day I saw someone in the gym wearing them. I eventually asked him if they were as comfortable as advertised and he said “these are the most comfortable pants I’ve ever worn”. This was what led me to buy 2 pairs and they really are as comfortable as advertised. The second ad is a gym equipment company that has really cool designs on their products called Gymreaper. I’ve seen a lot of people in the gym wearing their products and weightlifting belts so I started researching them, and now they pop up on my feed all the time. The third ad is from a company called Bird dogs. I clicked on this ad because I was researching comfortable pants and shorts to play golf in. Since all of these companies revolve around comfortable active wear, now social media bombards me with related products from all types of companies. Viouri’s stands out because of the claims of comfort. Gymreaper stands out because of their designs and reasonable price. And Birddogs stand out for their style as well, but they also have funny ads, and they claim to have a designer that used to be a big shot at Lululemon, and most people rave about their Lulu’s, so it makes you want to try their products.

It took me about 8 hours to reach 50 ads. I saw a lot of billboard ads on my way to the gym. I saw the 4 online ads from my email when gmail has ads at the top of the inbox. The social media ads are from TikTok, Instagram and Youtube. The first ad that stood out to me was for dickies. They were showing some new color options they have and the bold colors of the advertisement stood out to me. The second ad was for Flamingo Estate on instagram. I really liked the video they posted showing a candle they sell. The last one was a video on Instagram for pick n save. It stood out because it was fully animated.

It took me around 10 hours to collect this information, I enjoy reading newspapers and avoid social media news.
The three ads that stood out to me most were.
1. Edge Fitness because I might consider joining & the ad actually gave me information that helped.
2. Seasonal Landscape Solutions ad as I do most of the landscaping at my home so the ad made me excited for the upcoming spring and summer season, especially with the cold winter that we have experienced in Chicago this winter.
3. Naturesway Vitamins because I’m interested in preventative medicine and protecting my immune system with all the sickness that has been going around.

It took me roughly three hours to reach fifty ads across multiple platforms because I normally multitask from home with a computer, tv, and sometimes a PS5 or my phone playing or running videos, websites, etc., in the background.
The first ad that stood out to me the most was a State Farm commercial that included the rapper and actor Ludacris. The primary reason that this ad stood out to me was because the floor of the house where this commercial took place was flooded (although it may have only been an inch worth of water in reality) and the “owner” stated it was “Ludacris”. After which, Ludacris the rapper and actor appeared stating “you don’t need me you need State Farm.” To me anyway this was very memorable.
The second ad that stood out to me was a Burger King commercial due to the new jingle that they use for their commercials (love it or hate it it’s memorable).
The third ad that I found was memorable was an iPhone 15 ad due to its “titanium” feature that is supposed to help with weight and scratches (from my understanding). I found this ad interesting because the main selling point of the iPhone 15 appeared to be the new “titanium” feature over future improvements to the camera or parts within the phone itself (although I am sure there are improvements, I just found it different that they weren’t marketed as the titanium was).

How long did it take until you reached 50?
In just under two hours, I reached the 50 ad mark. I drove home from Whitwater today in which I saw some billboards and from those I acknowledged about 5. After I got home, I decided to go on Tik Tok, which brought 46 ads in about a half hour of scrolling.
List the top three ads you remember and why?
The three ads that stuck in my head were LED lights, a skin care product and a lawyer billboard. The reason why the LED lights stuck in my head was because I had seen about 5 of them in the time I was scrolling, and I had previously thought about purchasing. With Tik Tok, they have very advanced advertisement and data tracking to make my most viewed or talked about videos make their way back in my feed. Secondly, the skin care product was easy to remember as I had recently talked to my girlfriend about which products I should use, and sure enough an ad came up for one. Lastly, and perhaps the most odd, was the lawyer billboard. I typically do not pay attention to billboards as they aren’t very personable, but this one did. I am currently watching a show called Better Call Saul, who is a lawyer with very corny lines and billboards, and this one happened to be pretty similar in that sense. I was reminded of the show which brought an emotional connection to play.

How long did it take you to reach 50?
It took me about 6 hours to reach 50 advertisements. I drove from Fish Creek to Sturgeon Bay to a Friends house where I saw 4 billboards. Once I got to his house we watched part of the Milwaukee bucks game where I totaled 5Tv advertisements in that span. Once I got board watching the bucks I scrolled on TikTok for awhile where I got the majority of my ads totaling 37. and lastly, I went online and did some shopping and looking through various sites I accumulated 10 advertisements.
List the top 3 ads and why?
First and foremost, the first ad I need to select has got to be the Burger King ad. I know it’s cheesy, but that ad’s theme song is very catchy, and I think has drawn a lot of attention towards Burger King since it started airing so I must put that in the number one spot. The second Add I’d like to mention because of its cleverness has got to be the all state insurance commercials with the mayhem guy. I saw one the other day and it reminded me of my childhood when I used to see them I thought they used to be hilarious and over the time which I believe is why that is a great ad. the last advertisement I would like to talk about is again another Tv ad and it’s the Gruber law offices ad. Obviously if you watch the bucks you know this commercial but I think with his famous “One Call That’s All” line he’s caught on to a lot of people and that has been a very successful commercial.

It took me less than 3 hours to reach 50 ads. I was shocked at how quickly the number pilled up after I started keeping track of the ads.
Most of the ads were from social media. I was picking up kids from school, and I noticed a couple of billboards with ads on my way. Then, while waiting in the parking for 30 minutes, I saw about 35 ads while scrolling through my social media. Later after coming back home, I got mail from the mailbox and saw 3 ads for different clothing brands.
The ads I remember are the Apple Watch, AirPods, and Costco. I remember these because I am planning to get Apple accessories and have been researching on the internet. Since I saw these ads online, I am sure these were targeted ads, and Apple was trying to re-engage me by remarketing its product to me, a great marketing strategy.
It appears that I remember certain ads and forget others because of relevance and repetition.

How long did it take until you reached 50?
It took me just under six hours to reach a little over 50 ads. Documenting this really opened my eyes as to how many ads I see in a day without thinking of them as advertising a good or service to me. In my thirty-minute drive, I saw 8 billboards and heard 3 ads on the radio. Later, I watched TV, scrolled through social media, and counted 42 ads between the two.
List the top three ads you remember and why?
The top three ads I remembered were one for UW-Whitewater, Hemp 1848, and Speedy Metals. The reason for remembering the first two go together. They were both billboards and were side by side. I remember them because UW-Whitewater caught my eye first and made me think I go there and piqued my interest to read it. Then I noticed that there was a Hemp 1848 billboard right next to it. I thought it was an interesting combination of billboards next to each other. The last ad I remember was Speedy Metals becuase they have a catchy jingle that I couldn’t get out of my head.

I noticed within the first day of looking out for advertisements, I had easily viewed fifty from scrolling through social media, watching TV, and driving.
List the top three ads you remember and why?
The first ad that stuck with me was a google ad for HelloFresh, a meal delivery app. This ad was memorable because I was looking up healthy meals to make for dinner that night and when that ad come up within my searches, it gave me an idea for a meal because the picture of the food looked appetizing. The next ad that caught my attention was from scrolling on Instagram; It was an amazon ad for “Basics you need from amazon” and the visual was a vision board of aesthetically pleasing products that made me want to do some online shopping even though I didn’t necessarily need anything at the time. The last ad on my top three list was an ad for HBO Max and it was promoting having a movie that I’ve been wanting to see for a while, thus catching my attention.

Reaching the 50-ad mark took me roughly three days, although I feel like it could have been quicker. Balancing a hectic schedule, with errands and other commitments, led to occasional lapses in paying attention to ads, particularly billboards, radio ads, in-store promotions, and package ads. My numbers would likely have hit 50 sooner had I been more cognizant. Now, reflecting on the top three ads that left a lasting impression: there’s this billboard on my route to drop my son off at school, stating that Jesus is the only way to Heaven—a sentiment that resonates with my Christian beliefs. Another memorable ad was a YouTube trailer for the upcoming Netflix series of my cherished childhood animated show, Avatar: The Last Airbender. Lastly, a YouTube ad featuring networking certification courses. Both YouTube ads are a testament to effective ad targeting based on my search history and past video views—an exemplary illustration of precision marketing.

* How long did it take until you reached 50? It took me about 5 hours to get to fifty starting with most of the ads from watching tv in the morning, as I went on social I noticed there were about 2 ads for every few scrolls or swipes which amounted up to many over a span of a hour or two.
* List the top three ads you remember and why? The top three ads I remember was this Toyota commercial for their new sedan and truck which was very persuading due to the fact that one of their commercials persuaded me to get my first car which is a Toyota and the environment where they show the cars makes them pop out more. The second ad was from sports center for football and basketball with the playoffs coming up the fact that they combine all of the games biggest moments gives a climax to want to buy tickets and see it in person. The third top ad was a shoe commercial which definitely had a big impact due to me being a sneaker head it was for a company called vessel and showing the material of the shoe and different styles of them.

– How long did it take until you reached 50? It took me about 4 hours from when I woke up to when I had reached 50. In that time I had grabbed packages that were delivered and had scrolled through Instagram and other websites online.
– The one I remember the most was the physical package advertisements I saw. The Amazon box I picked up and the one we had in the house both had advertisements for their platform on the tape. Another ad I remember was for a jewelry company. I have been looking into jewelry for my girlfriend for Valentine’s day and was surprised to see that ad as I usually don’t get those types of ads. Usually, the ones that are out of place grab my attention the most. The last one I remember was for an Omega watch which I thought looked pretty cool.

How long did it take until you reached 50? It took me around 1-2 hours to reach 50 ads. I never realized how many ads their were until I looked for them. On social media it was about an ad for every 2-3 swipes.
List the top three ads you remember and why? I remembered ads for random iphone games the most. Because on TikTok those ads are pushed the most. I remembered these because they were the most common type of ad i’d find on each of those platforms.

How long did it take until you reached 50?
It took me a little just about 4 hours to reach 50 ads. I mostly saw ads on TV watching football games and looking at ads coming up on my phone on ads like Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. I thought I would reach this goal quickly but trying to get ads while just watching TV or sitting around seemed like it was taking a lot longer than if you were thinking about it.
List the top three ads you remember and why?
I was constantly seeing sports betting ads, they used Rob Gronkowski to attract people to spend money. They attract people by telling you if you spend $5 they will give you an additional $150 to use towards betting. I also was constantly seeing the State Farm ad where they would use Patrick Mahomes, he talks about his most vulnerable Bundler, or what he calls the “MVB” using this so save home and auto insurance. The other ad that stuck with me is stuff on Instagram that helps remind you about Valentine’s Day, I am constantly seeing chocolates, flowers, and stuffed animals to help remind me that Valentine’s Day is right around the corner.

-How long did it take until you reached 50? It took me about 4 hours to reach the 50 ads. It was very surprising to me just how many ads I see in such a short amount of time of me actually looking out specifically for ads. I found that the majority of the ads were found on social media, mainly Instagram and TikTok and they were popping up roughly every 5-6 posts.
-List the top three ads you remember and why? The top three ads that I remember were marketed towards me based on things that I view or interact with. One was for Ekkovision, a supplement company that is geared towards working out and lifting which is a big chunk of the content that I consume. The next ad that I remember was for random phone games and that was mainly on tiktok. These ads for one reason or another are constantly recommended for me despite me never clicking on them. The next ad that I remember seeing a lot was for streaming services, Disney plus being the main one that comes to mind. I believe that these are popping up more as streaming services are very popular in todays world, and people who use social media are more likely to interact and use them.

How long did it take until you reached 50?
It only took me one day to see over 50 advertisements.
List the top three ads you remember and why?
The top three ads I remember are a billboard for a law firm, an ad for a brand of wallets on social media, and a commercial for Ram pickup trucks. The reason the law firm’s billboard stood out to me is actually a negative one. One of the attorneys on the board has a bad hairstyle that makes him appear creepy. While this is judgmental, it was my genuine reaction to seeing it. The advertisement for the wallets is memorable because of the quantity of ads. More than half of the ads were for this special type of wallet, but it was not effective in convincing me to buy it. It actually got annoying seeing the video so much that I will intentionally avoid that company when purchasing a wallet. Lastly, the Ram commercial showed pickup trucks driving in difficult conditions off-road, which appealed to my sense of adventure. Overall, the most memorable advertisements were the bad ones.

I tracked advertisements on Thursday and Friday of this week. The grand majority of exposure was at a nearby gas station that I visit most days of the week, along with a trip to the grocery store. Given the high volume of packaged items present in these stores, I tried my best to use logic in estimating the total number of ads I was exposed to. In general, I multiplied the number of products I actually purchased by a reasonable number of alternatives that I considered for each one. I did not count items that I purchase routinely since, in my opinion, I am no longer interacting with their packaging as advertising. I didn’t quite reach 50 during my morning gas station stop on Thursday, but quickly arrived at that threshold upon entering the grocery store Thursday evening.
When considering the top three most impactful ads I encountered during this span, I tried to zero in on ones that actually lead to buying decisions. Sometimes, I engage with ads simply to evaluate the success of the branding, message, etc.; as a creative person who has some prior experience designing ads, I often analyze the visual choices brands make. However, it takes more than catchy design to really make an impression on me as a consumer. Personally, convenience/timing play a more significant role in whether ads “reach” me. In no particular order, here are the three ads I thought stood out:
1) Zevia canned, flavored tea/energy drinks
I walked by these items when working my way through the aisles at the grocery store. I was intrigued by the advertised health-conscious ingredients and reasonable price point. The branding was mixed in my opinion — different flavors/types took slightly different approaches, some more effective than others. I would have purchased something else in their place had I not stumbled upon their section, but I was convinced to try them out.
2) Kwik Trip hot, to-go items stand
Kwik Trip places a variety of hot sandwiches, snacks, etc. at the front of all of their stores. It’s the first thing you see when you walk in and, based on my experience in their stores, it is very popular with their patrons. I bought an item from this stand on both days. Placement, convenience, and product variety are the key marketing factors in making this stand effective.
3) Starbucks mini-coffee station (at my workplace)
I am currently trying my best to not frequent coffee shops such as Starbucks, Moka, etc., because I saw it as an opportunity to save some money. My workplace has a small Starbucks self-serve station, and I walked past it when I entered the building on Friday afternoon. It caught me at the right time and I was willing to spend a few bucks for an energy boost to close my day.

How long did it take until you reached 50?
It took me about 2 hours to reach 50 ads. I reached 17 TV ads by watching football all day Sunday. Even though the majority didn’t come from watching TV I saw a good amount. The rest of the 50 were watched through social media, mostly Instagram and TikTok. The reason that it took me so fast is that when you are scrolling on your Instagram reels or TikTok for you page ads for various items pop up quite frequently.
List the top three ads you remember and why?
I don’t remember most of the ads on TikTok and Instagram, but the ones I remembered from watching TV included a state farm ad for home and auto insurance. I remember this because it included Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, who are very popular football players. The second one I remember was a T-Mobile commercial and the reason I remember that one is because it included Patrick Mahomes again. The third and final ad I remember is for Vrbo which is a travel website company and the reason I remember it is because there were these space living pods that a group of friends went to.

One of the ads I remember most is for Poppi which I saw on social media. I remember this one because it had very bright colors and it caught my attention. This was just Poppi advertising their new flavors. The next ad that I remember is Starbucks. I have been trying to go there less frequently and then I saw the ad saying they had a deal for a grande drink on Thursdays which is something that stood out to me. The last ad that stood out to me was another ad that I saw on social media for Evry Jewels. This stood out to me because it was advertising their affordable jewelry that is good quality. I also remember it because it was marketed to people my age and it kept showing up on my social media when I was scrolling.

How long did it take until you reached 50?
It didn’t take long at all, it only took me about 3 or 4 hours to count to 50. The majority of the ads I counted came from Online browsing websites or from social media, which is where I typically spend a lot of my time. I also had a short commute (~20 minutes) to the store and back home where I drove past two billboards while listening to the radio.
While online and browsing social media the ads were much more rapid and targeted.
List the top three ads you remember and why?
The first notable ad I remember seeing was on Youtube, and it was a link to a “Mr Beast wants to give you $1,000”, a short, 15 second ad, which was more of a scam/phishing attempt in the form of an ad trying to get you to sign up to steal/sell your information, which I was confused as to why Youtube would allow such an ad like that on their platform. The next ad I remember seeing was a US Cellular ad, which was advertising their “new” campaign where if you sign up for certain plans you can get “any phone for free”, which felt very targeted as I was just recently talking about how I need to get a new phone as my old one is very dated. Lastly, I had another ad by Apple, advertising the iPhone 15, although I do need a new phone, I also remember this ad because it was humorous and showed a dad worrying after his college daughter in a “they grow up so fast” kind of message which felt very relatable in several ways, making it very memorable.

It took about a day and a half, although I have been fairly sick this week. I feel on average it would more accurately take me 3-4 hours to reach 50.
List the top three ads you remember and why?
1. Capital One Commercial, I remember this ad because I have seen it many times and I also find it funny. The slogan “What’s in your wallet?” in also kind of catchy.
2. Dermalogica Pro Collagen Banking Serum. I remember this ad because it actually made me click the link and visit the site. I have been looking for skin care products recently and I feel many of my ads are beauty products, although this one interested me because it was an influencer who I have seen before.
3. Paramount+, I remember this ad because I was interested in watching the movie that they showed called The Women In The Wall.

It took me about 6 hours to get 50 ads. I walked to the store in Milwaukee where I saw a few bus stop ads. I saw a good amount of targeted ads on my Instagram and snapchat. I saw a bunch of TV ads while watching the Ravens/Chiefs game, and some more billboards on my way back to Whitewater. The most memorable ad I saw was a bus ad from The Shelter Pet Project with the picture of a puppy in a shoe. I am a sucker for dogs so that one really caught my eye. The second one that got me was a liberty mutual TV ad. I usually can ignore those ads as they come up all the time, but this one I actually found a little funny. The baby’s first words were Liberty because of how many people the mom told about the insurance. The third one that I remember is a taco bell TV ad because I was really hungry at the time and the food looked really good.

How long did it take you to reach 50?
It did not take me long, as I was watching football on the television and was on my phone occasionally. Also, the amount of advertisements you are shown daily is astronomical. Social Media has become completely bought out and is truly just another form of amazon, i.e. instagram and tiktok shop.
List the top three ads you remember and why?
The top three ads I remembered are:
1. An iPhone 15 commercial with an outlet singing. I remembered this one because I hear it often and it is quite terrible, and my least favorite one.
2. Instacart commercial. This one I remembered since they tried to make it catchy, and it is also terrible, and will be ranked as my second least favorite current commercial.
3. NFL Superbowl Commercial. I remembered this one since I was watching football and am excited for the upcoming Superbowl, and the commercials that come alongside it.
This shows that as a company you can be remembered for good and bad advertisements which can ultimately affect the sales of your company.

* Over the past two days I have seen 80+ advertisements. My Friday and Saturday consisted of seeing ads on social media for the most part, because that’s where i spend my free time. three specific ads that I vividly remember came from primarily social media. The first one being Prize picks ad on tiktok. This prize picks advertisement is a ad I see on the daily while on social media; but with doing this assignment I actually decided to click it and learned more. With going into a rabbit hole I learned all about prize picks, parley and sports betting overall. The next ad I saw while out volunteering, it was an ad for selling your home. This ad stood out to me because it was taped on to a homeless shelter; and although it was just a simple advertisement it seemed to be inhumane in its placement. Lastly i saw an ad on Angel Resses Instagram page for Beats sudio headphone. This ad stuck out to me because it was very empowering seeing a woman who transpired from her basketball career to being and influencer and partnering with numerous brands such as Beats by Dre, tampons, fashion nova, DTLR etc.
The last two 2 days i watched 16 advertisements i was in a airport and watched you tube and Hulu for a couple hours so there’s some specific advertisement I remember. I was in Orlando at the carnival cruise port and there was a huge advertisement along the highway promoting the views and the prices that they were offering. Another advertisement that especially hits homes for me was the State Farm Kaitlyn Clark commercial, there was also another one with Jimmy Butler both of them very popular in their leagues. Insurances are very recognizable for me because I work with insurance company’s in my line of work. The last AD that stuck out to me was an Billboard in the Bahamas along the Ocean that they were offering jetski rides for certain amount of time. Which people needed to recognize in order to find where they could order their jetski ride.
