Are you looking for a new – to – you RPG that keeps you tight in its grasp for hours on end? Dragon’s Dogma might just be for you!
Dragon’s Dogma is a PS3/Xbox 360 era open-world role-playing game set on the continent of Gransys. Here I’ll go over some of the main features!
- Open-world exploration from the get-go
- Random creature and monster encounters
- Hundreds upon hundreds of side-quests
- 45-hour main storyline
- Online co-op via “Pawns”
At the start of the game is a short 30 minute introduction quest to get you through the world’s story, but after that you create your own character and you’re off to the races! You can go anywhere and do anything as you please!
Once you’re out in the world, you’ll encounter goblins, wolves and bandits alike, however, once in a while you’ll come up against bigger, tougher monsters. These creatures are usually indicated with health bars on the top of the screen, boss-style, and are usually larger than their more common counter-parts. These monsters can include cyclopes, chimera, dragons and even giant skeletons!
Like every RPG, Dragon’s Dogma is littered with side-quests! There are many types as well, from escort missions to route the enemy missions, this game has it all, in an abundance, and very well made!
The incredible main storyline can be completed at any level, though it’ll be harder the lower level you are. This game’s main story-line is a little weird in the sense that it can have many outcomes depending on whether or not you complete every main quest.
Dragon’s Dogma has a unique online feature where you create a character called a “pawn” that travels with you throughout your adventure and people from other games can summon your pawn to help them out for a while. Once your pawn returns, it’ll bring back experience and items as gifts from the other players.
All in all, Dragon’s Dogma is a wonderful RPG and has aged very well given when it released. If you have a pc that can play the remastered version on steam I highly recommend this game as it is definitely a 10/10 for me!
