“Jets Announce Split With Aaron Rodgers, Wish Him Success”, by ESPN. This was made on February 13th, 2025. This is currently a big story in the National Football League (NFL). The New York Jets did not cite reasoning on this decision, but the only things that Jets General Manager Darren Mougey and Jets Head Coach Aaron Glenn told Rodgers in a meetup with him, was that their intention was to move in a different direction at Quarterback. This story is related to me and others especially in the state of Wisconsin because we also went through losing Aaron Rodgers as Packers fans. And this story is one of the major stories worldwide in the Sports World right now. The angle I would take locally on this story was that what did you first think of when the Packers traded Aaron Rodgers and how did it turn out now and ask them if they think the Jets are making a good or bad decision. I interviewed 3 people who are Packers fans with high football knowledge to see what they think!
The first person I interviewed was a Sophomore, Football player at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, as well as a Packers fan, Justin Krol, said “He (Aaron Rodgers) was getting mentally draining on the franchise (Green Bay Packers), and now the jets are realizing the extent of how he is as a person.
The second person I interviewed was Lukas Jones, a Junior at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. He said “I think it was time to move on from Rodgers. I think sitting Love for a few years has given him some good experience before taking over for Aaron. I think the Jets are making the right move in moving on from him at QB because he is a bit older and less elusive which doesn’t bode well for the Jets who have a bad offensive line. They need to get younger at QB.
The last person I interviewed was Cayden Krutina, a Sophomore at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. His claims are “I was definitely bummed that the Packers traded Rodgers because he was the Qb I grew up watching. I did figure it was a long time coming though, with all of his communication issues with Mike McCarthy, Matt Lefluer, and the organization as a whole. As for the Jets, I definitely understand moving away from Rodgers, He really hasn’t looked the same since he left Green Bay and I think they’re (Jets) investing a lot of time and money trying to rebuild this organization around a 40 year old diva who is like six seasons out of his prime”.
You really get to see different opinions, and how they have changed overtime about this considering that we Packers fans have gone through the same thing after so many years of watching Aaron Rodgers. Thanks for reading.
