Rendering of potential Dodge future

A digital car rendering artist that goes by the name of tuningcar_ps on Instagram has created a potential glimpse into what the future of the Dodge charger could look like.

With Dodge ending all three of their gas-powered models (Challenger, Charger, Durango) in 2023 and vowing to introduce three new models for their electric exclusive line up; I’d say this independent rendering is something they should take into consideration for the next generation of the Charger.

As a long-time Dodge fan, I can comfortably say that if this was what Dodge was going to make their electric charger look like, it would definitely make bringing their current customer base into the future much easier. The current generation of the Charger has been in production for seven years and over the life time of the Charger name has been able to change to better serve its time period.

One of the most important aspects of the Charger is the front lights. Sharing design with the Durango head lights and being a strong signature as with the Challenger, it’s important to keep its aggressive look that separates it from everyone else. Compared to the current Charger, this rendering for sure steps it up.

The above image is what the rendering looks like compared to what the actual 2023 Charger will look like. While I would’ve liked to have seen one last change to the gas-powered Charger, it makes sense they hold off as the line is ending next year anyway. Dodge is going out with a bang in other ways through this transition, most notably with their new “Chief donut maker” position that allows for fans to enter for a $150,000 1-year contract to drive around a super custom Challenger to test out modifications and spread the brand image.

Some other notable attributes that make the rendering so attractive for the future is the color pallet. The pale blue with black secondary and red accent gives it a unique yet sporty look that works well with the bulkier body of the Charger. This pallet being stock would be great for those that like to make their car stand out from everyone else (i.e., all Dodge fans).

  1. It is a shame to see them discontinue their gas-powered Chargers and other vehicles. Although I would never personally buy an electric car, I do have to say that it is nice they kept the same body style. I Understand that they are trying to save the environment, but you will never personally see me drive one. As long as they keep the same body style I think this can still be a fun car and still looks like the classic Dodge.
