With FPS games being all the rage nowadays, a lot of people look to Call of Duty, Battlefield, and the like for entertainment. Here’s one that might have gotten lost along the way that you might enjoy!
Hunt: Showdown is on of those titles that you may or may not see pop up on steam. The player-base for it is a decent size but it’s no Call of Duty. So what is it exactly?
Hunt: Showdown is a First-person shooter in a battle royale-style competition to see who can kill the boss and extract with its bounty. That might be a complicated sentence so let’s start at the beginning.
First and foremost you start off in the lobby. This is where you recruit a character, equip them with guns, tools and consumables. Naturally if they survive long enough, you’ll also use this screen to outfit them with different perks as well.
Once you and your friends have all readied up, you’ll be placed into a match. At this point your main goal is to go around searching for clues to find where the boss or bosses lairs are.
After collecting three of these clues you’ll be lead to the boss lair. Sounds simple enough, however, up to 11 more hunters are doing the exact same thing and they want what you want; less competition.
If you’ve managed to make it this far, now the real fun begins.
Each match has a random boss of three. The Spider(Left), The Butcher(Middle), and the Assassin(Right). Your job is to kill these entities and banish them from existence! Once that is done, they’ll leave a nice little pile of ashes on the ground for you and your team to pick up. Now all that’s left is to extract without catching any stray bullets from enemy hunters! Congratulations! You win!
Hunt: Showdown in my opinion is a sale game. The standing price is 37.99 USD and while the game is absolutely amazing (I have almost 700 hours played) the developers spend a lot more time adding in expensive DLC that only add cosmetics into the game. Overall, the game is a 7/10 that doesn’t quite reach the mark because of the lack of continuous updates to the game.
After reading about Hunt: Showdown, I might have to try out the game. Although I’m terrible at FPS and not my style of videogames, I’m willing to improve my skills.
I’ve never heard of this game but it sounds interesting. I’ll have to look into it
After reading this I found this game to be quite intriguing. Lately I’ve been playing a lot of battle royale games, mostly Warzone. Ever since Fortnite came out I think that Epic Games changed the game with how we play video games. I think they influenced a lot of other companies to start having these type of game modes.
Hello,
I do not know much about video games but this post was very insightful. Hunt seems like a game that my brother would really like so I can tell him about it!
