About Zoe Emerson
Zoe Emerson is a University of Wisconsin-Whitewater student pursuing dual degrees in journalism and Spanish. Zoe aspires to work as a journalist. Originally from Illinois, Zoe attended Huntley High School and graduated in May 2023. Zoe then attended McHenry County College, where she graduated in August 2024. Zoe transferred to UW-W where she is slated to complete her two bachelor’s degrees in May 2026.
Zoe’s Experience
Zoe has extensive experience working in journalism. In August 2020, Zoe joined her high school’s newspaper, The Voice, upon recommendation from an instructor. Zoe was appointed to a Floating Editor position in October 2020 and remained one until graduating. At McHenry County College, Zoe served as a Staff Writer for The Tartan from August 2023 to May 2024. Zoe’s journalistic work continued at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, as she was appointed to the Campus News Editor position upon joining The Royal Purple and continues to serve in that position.
