The Milwaukee Bucks Are Legit, and Bucks Fans Are Grateful

Last night, the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Indiana Pacers 117-98 to improve to 49-16, a full three games ahead of the next-best record in the NBA which is held by the Toronto Raptors (46-19) (ESPN).

The Bucks snapped their longest losing-streak of the season with the victory. How long was that losing streak?

Two games.

That’s it. Just two games. Milwaukee went 53 games without dropping two straight games this season before they fell to the Phoenix Suns on Monday night. The Suns are also the only team in the entire NBA to beat the Bucks twice.

With LeBron James out of the conference, the following question has been asked a countless amount of times. Who will come out of the east? James went to the NBA Finals eight straight seasons while in the Eastern Conference. Now that he is playing for the Lakers in the west, it is time for new blood.

The Milwaukee Bucks are a perfect candidate to fill that void.

Last season, the Bucks finished the season 44-38 and lost to the Boston Celtics in the first round. Milwaukee has not advanced out of the first round since the 2000-2001 season. For as long as fans can remember, the Bucks were a mediocre team at best after their run in 2001.

Now, they are lead by MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo. 2015 Coach Of The Year Mike Budenholzer took over the team this year and has lead them beyond last season’s win total already, clearly showing that this is just the beginning.

Fans around Milwaukee are beyond excited for what is taking place in their city.

“I just can’t believe that we get to watch this team play in honor of our home” said Bucks fan Aron Brick. “It still seems like a dream, but this is really happening”.

A brand new, state-of-the-art arena. A 24-year-old kid from Greece who is arguably playing basketball better than anybody in the league. A culture that is similar to that of baseball in New York, or football in Boston.

Based on everything that has been coming along for the Bucks and the city of Milwaukee, three things are for sure.

The Milwaukee Bucks are a serious contender.

Milwaukee is a serious basketball city.

This is only the beginning.
