img_4158Whitewater, WI – Is Russia a threat to the United States? If so, what should we do about it? Is it the responsibility of the people of Russia or is it up to us in the West to put an end to Russian aggressive moves on the international stage? These and many other questions are answered weekly on “Rashkin Report”, a WSUW 91.7 FM program hosted by Yuri Rashkin – UW – Whitewater Communications and Public Relations instructor, currently in its second season. Rashkin Report features interviews with the leading Russia specialists, scholars, human rights activists and news analysts, in Russia and in the United States.

For the guests, Rashkin Report presents an important opportunity to share the story of today’s Russia with a bigger audience. “For many reasons, English-language media is sparse when it comes to amplifying opposition voices in Russia” says Slava Rabinovich, one of the most popular Russian bloggers and a regular guest on Rashkin Report. “It’s exciting to have a regular english-language radio program that covers Russia. With every episode, Rashkin Report helps build awareness of the danger that comes from those who are occupying Kremlin today, as well as the importance of sanctions desperately needed to stop Putin’s aggression towards those who disagree with him inside and outside of Russia”.

Says Rashkin: “It is my hope that in an environment where the Russian people have a continually decreasing number of ways to receive independent information while the American people have a hard time understanding the important lessons of what is going on in Russia, Rashkin Report is providing a cultural bridge, and an opportunity for audiences worldwide to hear conversations and learn more about a country armed with nuclear weapons on a precipice of a collapse”.

Airing every Thursday morning at 8 am. Make sure to follow Rashkin Report on Facebook and YouTube!
