The minimal makeup trend has been a popular theme throughout this blog so far, so it is fitting that this post will go into detail about which products will be best to create that fresh and dewy look. Since Covid-19 entered our lives, the makeup trends have become all about skin and less about full-face glam looks. The pandemic made skin concerns prominent for many individuals that suffered with the now coined term, “maskne,” which resulted in acne created by wearing masks. Now that people are learning how to treat their skin, they want it to shine with the minimal looks that are now trendy in social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first step to this type of makeup look is of course a great skin care routine. Refer back last week’s post about how to create a basic skincare routine for your skin type to learn more. After the skincare is applied, it is time to work on the flawless foundation base. This was also discussed in a previous blog post since this can be a complicated step, so this post will be focusing specifically on recommending products for the foundation base. A hydrating primer is a must for this dewy look, so my recommendation for people looking to create that effect would be Urban Decay’s All Nighter Ultra Glow Makeup Primer ($36 USD). This primer makes the foundation grip to the skin while also looking like glass skin to enhance a great skin texture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of course a great primer needs to be accompanied by an even better foundation. This leads me into my next product recommendation, with no pun intended, Clinique Even Better Glow Foundation ($31 USD). This lightweight and glowy foundation checks all the boxes for a dewy makeup look that still looks like your skin. This can also be paired with Clinique Even Better Concealer ($27 USD) since the two products work well together because they were formulated to blend together well. The makeup base still needs to be set with a powder to ensure it lasts all day long, so I also recommend using a setting powder that blurs pores and skin imperfections for a smooth and flawless base. The Dermablend Loose Setting Powder in shade Original ($29 USD) will do this effortlessly. This still lets the dewy products underneath shine through for that healthy skin glow that everyone wants. An additional product that makes makeup last longer and creates even more of a glow is the MAC Prep and Prime Fix+ Spray ($31 USD). This is my secret weapon when it comes to my “no makeup, makeup look” days when I want that glass like skin appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of course there are many products that would work well for a glowy foundation base to create the “no makeup, makeup look” that everyone wants to achieve these days, but these are just options of what you can pick up at the store on your next beauty run. Although these products work great for me, they may not work for everyone since they all perform differently on various skin types. If these products don’t work out, don’t feel discouraged with the minimal look, instead try to find other products that may work better for your skin type. Makeup is all about fun and experimentation with products and different styles, so make sure you find what works for you!<\/p>\n\n\n
