{"id":1181,"date":"2017-05-01T13:38:00","date_gmt":"2017-05-01T18:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/warhawkfitness\/?p=1181"},"modified":"2017-05-01T13:38:00","modified_gmt":"2017-05-01T18:38:00","slug":"essential-oils-after-sun-spray","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/warhawkfitness\/2017\/05\/01\/essential-oils-after-sun-spray\/","title":{"rendered":"Essential Oils After Sun Spray"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spring Break is at an end, but that doesn\u2019t mean that tan should be. \u00a0While on Spring break, my skin was kissed by the sun, a little more some days than others. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I always made sure I was lathered up in my SPF, but the Punta Cana sun was a bit stronger than here in the U.S. \u00a0That is where this wonderful spray comes in handy. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What is in the after-sun spray you ask? \u00a0It\u2019s made with simple, natural ingredients you probably have laying around the house. <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Witch hazel<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aloe Vera gel<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Concoct oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Essential oils<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Why use these ingredients and what do they do?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Witch hazel<\/span><\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Freshness and smooths skin, decreases itching and reduces peeling of the skin<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aloe Vera gel<\/span><\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: moisturizes skin, soothes skin, and reduces inflammation <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coconut oil<\/span><\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: moisturizes skin<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lavender essential oil<\/span><\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: soothes occasional skin irritations and rejuvenates skin<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Peppermint essential oil<\/span><\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">:<\/span> cooling<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Peppermint essential oil is a skin irritant, so while the cooling may feel wonderful, don\u2019t overuse it.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>How to make it?<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add 2 tablespoons of witch hazel <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00bc cup Aloe Vera gel<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2 tablespoons of coconut oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">10 drops of lavender essential oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No more than 2 drops of peppermint essential oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mix well and pour into a spray bottle<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can store at room temperature, but it\u2019s nice to keep your Essential oil after spray in the refrigerator, to keep it even cooler. After a day in the sun, or even a couple days after, spray on your skin. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I am not a doctor and this DIY product may not work for everyone, but I sure do love it. \u00a0Many friends and family have tried it and have fallen in love. \u00a0So heal your sunburn with Essential oil after spray. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I hope you learn.
