5 Summer Wellness Tips

  1. Stay Cool and Hydrated Every Day

It is very important to make sure you drink enough water each day. In the summer, the heat makes it harder to stay hydrated, so you need to drink more water. It is important to drink water both before and after you work out as well. It is a great idea to bring a water bottle everywhere you go this summer. You can also add fresh fruit to your water for variety in the summer.

  1. Protect Yourself from the Sun

Make sure to use sunscreen to protect your skin. Sunburn can be painful, and there are many negative effects of too much sun exposure. It is also a good idea to take breaks in the shade if you are outside for extended periods of time. Hats and sunglasses are also great options to use as protection from the sun. Continue reading

Workout Shoes NOT Working Out

Hey everyone it’s your favorite Fitness Supervisor Ryan checking in! When I’m working in the Williams center there is one thing that is guaranteed to make me cringe and I know we’re all thinking the same thing. That’s right… IMPROPER FOOTWEAR, there’s nothing worse in my book. Something as simple as choosing the right shoe for the activity you’re participating in can make or break a workout. Some might be reading this thinking “Why should we listen to you?” To put your mind at ease I have multiple years of experience recommending and selling footwear to fitness enthusiasts much like 
yourself. In an effort to let you choose which shoe you like the most I will not be discussing individual brands. I will be discussing the best shoe for each type of workout.

Doomsday Prep (Finals Edition)

Oh the confusing times of the last couple weeks of school. A time of happiness, anxiousness, relief and stress… all at once… yikes. Summer is finally just beyond the horizon but not until those tests, papers and projects are done! Have no fear, believe it or not, there are ways to survive finals and it all comes with good preparation!


I’m sure your teachers and parents tell you this all the time, but having a planner really does help! Setting off a few minutes to sit down and write down your finals schedule in advance can save you time later that could be spent studying. If you don’t have a planner, there are multiple other options for you. There are a various amounts of apps for your phone that can help you plan out your weeks or even just the “reminders” app that comes with your phone will do! Luke’s Goodbye

Goodbyes are always present in ones life. No matter the degree, a goodbye can be a difficult thing to do. Now graduating from college, I have to say goodbye to a lot of things. Friends, professors, organizations, the dining halls with unlimited chocolate milk, and this job. Being on this PR team has been one of the best things for me over this past year. I will dearly miss the work, my kick-butt team, my gnarly boss (with her amazing snacks she always brings) and the feeling of putting out work I am really proud of and can say it will educate people.
