December 13, 2019 Uncategorized No CommentsOn December 12, 2019 the UW-Whitewater/Community Optimist Club held a luncheon to recognize students from the Whitewater Unified School District for their excellence over the semester. Eight students in total were nominated by their teachers to receive this award, commemorated by a plaque provided by the UW-Whitewater/Community Optimist Club. The District Administrator, Dr. Jim Shaw was in attendance as well as the Whitewater High School Principle, Mike Lovenberg.
The UW-Whitewater/Community Optimist Club has been acknowledging exceptional students for several years now. Optimist Club member, Therese Kennedy stated that the students who are nominated for these awards are not strangers to the Optimist Club. Oftentimes, the club watches these students progress through their achievements and gets to know them throughout the years.
