What is the mission behind your organization? What dives your organization?
AITP provides students in technology related fields of study a place to further their knowledge outside of the classroom through weekly meetings with speakers from the industry. The organization also provides a rich social atmosphere and a chance to network with peers/professionals in a more relaxed environment.
What is the best/most fun activity your organization is going to do this semester? Are there any other cool activities coming up this semester?
Members and non-members are able to participate in the Hack-A-Thon:
A hack-a-thon is an event where programmers meet for a specified time frame to do collaborative computer programming. A hack-a-thon refers to a specific time when many people come together to hack on what they want to, how they want to – with little to no restrictions on direction or goal of the programming. Participants code, network, and have a blast!
Additionally, members will be able to participate in the AITP banquet.
What can a member expect to learn when they are part your organization?
They can expect to learn a lot about companies in the surrounding area and what technologies they use. In addition, there are many opportunities to discuss up and coming technologies and cool ways business will possibly utilize them.
Who would you recommend to join your organization?
Anyone should join, especially those who are majoring in IT or interested in technology.
Why should students join your organization?
Students should join our organization because they will be able to speak face to face with possible future employers. In addition to that it looks great on a resume for everyone, not just IT people. Lastly, if you are interested in technology there is no better club on campus!
Has your organization won any awards over the past few years?
We won the SCOPA award from the national AITP two years ago!
