{"id":427,"date":"2010-08-02T12:41:43","date_gmt":"2010-08-02T17:41:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/uptimes\/?p=427"},"modified":"2010-08-02T12:44:14","modified_gmt":"2010-08-02T17:44:14","slug":"renee-pfeifer-luckett-to-join-icit-as-director-learning-technology-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/uptimes\/renee-pfeifer-luckett-to-join-icit-as-director-learning-technology-center\/","title":{"rendered":"Renee Pfeifer-Luckett to join iCIT as Director, Learning Technology Center"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Renee Pfeifer-Luckett, a full-time Lecturer in Marketing, College of Business, at UW-Whitewater, will join iCIT as Director of the Learning Technology Center.\u00a0 Renee\u2019s first day is today, Monday, Aug. 2.<\/p>\n<p>Renee has seven years of experience teaching various courses in the Marketing department, and has also taught the marketing module in the \u201cInternational Business\u201d course offered by the Information Technology\/Business Education department.\u00a0\u00a0 Renee brings a unique blend of skills and a depth of understanding of the technology needs and expectations of higher education faculty.\u00a0 As a teacher, she integrates a variety of methods and technologies to enhance student learning, including fully online and hybrid structures, podcasting, wikis and blogs, Second Life and laptop learning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Renee also served as Assistant Director of the UW-Whitewater Fiscal and Economic Research Center, where she contributed to several economic analysis reports including \u201cThe Economic Impact of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and co-authored \u00a0the journal article \u201dThe Economic Impact of Organized Camps\u201d to be published this Fall.<\/p>\n<p>In 2009, Renee was nominated for the \u201c2009 Outstanding Faculty Award\u201d by UWW Career &amp; Leadership Development.\u00a0 The same year she was awarded the \u201cAcademic Staff Teaching Excellence Award\u201d by CoBE, and went on to win the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater \u201cInstructional Excellence Award for Academic Staff.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prior to joining UW-Whitewater, Renee had an accomplished management career in electronic commerce for Arrow Products, Inc. and in communications at Arthur Andersen &amp; Co.\u00a0 She continues as a Director of Letrah International Corporation, LLC, and provides general business guidance for the firm.<\/p>\n<p>In her new role, Renee will oversee the Learning Technology Center, a faculty technology development unit within iCIT, which serves the instructional technology needs of the faculty and instructional staff both in the classroom and in online courses. \u00a0\u00a0The mission of LTC is to encourage and support faculty and staff who seek to enhance student learning and gain efficiencies by integrating technology into their courses.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Renee will continue as a Co-Advisor of UW-Whitewater\u2019s chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon, the national sales and marketing fraternity and as a Board member of the national marketing honor society Mu Kappa Tau.<\/p>\n<p>Please join us in welcoming Renee to iCIT!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Renee Pfeifer-Luckett, a full-time Lecturer in Marketing, College of Business, at UW-Whitewater, will join iCIT as Director of the Learning Technology Center.\u00a0 Renee\u2019s first day is today, Monday, Aug. 2.
