Getting involved on campus is one of the best ways to make the most of your college experience, but with so many opportunities, it can be hard to know where to start. The good news is that UW\u2013Whitewater has a student organization for just about everyone! Whether you’re interested in something major specific, Greek life, cultural organizations, community service, club sports, or trying something new, there’s a group that’s a great fit for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Joining a student organization is a great way to meet new people, build leadership skills, gain experience, and make campus feel more like home. Not sure where to start? Connect2<\/a> is a great resource for finding organizations that match your interests, and the Involvement Office in the Warhawk Connection Center is always there to help if you have questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You should also check out the Involvement Fair at the beginning of each semester to meet organization members, learn about different groups, and find the ones that interest you. Getting involved is one of the easiest ways to make connections and create lasting memories during your time at UW\u2013Whitewater!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Greek Organizations<\/strong><\/a> & <\/strong>Greek Community Website<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Many students find themselves interested in joining Greek Life on campus but are sometimes unsure. There are over 20 Greek organizations on campus, representing a variety of councils, including the Panhellenic Council (PHC), National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), Interfraternity Council (IFC), and Inter-Greek Council (IGC). These organizations provide students with opportunities to build lifelong friendships, develop leadership skills, participate in community service, and become involved in campus life. Each council and organization has its own unique traditions, values, and missions, contributing to the diverse and inclusive Greek community on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mission Statement Greek organizations can help students find a smaller community within a larger campus as well as helping students develop communication and teamwork skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Academic\/Professional\/Honors Organizations<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n American Marketing Association<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The American Marketing Association is an International professional society of individual members with an interest in the practice, study, and teaching of marketing. Our primary objectives are: first, to urge and assist the personal and professional development of our members, and second, to create a social environment that is conducive to establishing lifelong network opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Accounting Society<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Accounting Society is a great option for students who are interested in accounting or want to learn more about the field. It gives students the chance to connect with other people in the major, learn about career opportunities, find internships, and build professional connections. It can also be a helpful resource for students who are thinking about becoming a CPA or starting a career in accounting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Aspiring Educators of Wisconsin<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n The mission of the Aspiring Educators of Wisconsin is to support public education for all students and the continuation of a strong professional association and to provide its members a voice in matters affecting their education and careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Game and Media Entertainment Developers (GAMED)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n GAMED (Game and Media Entertainment Developers) helps students interested in game development and interactive media build skills, gain experience, and connect with others who share similar interests. The organization welcomes students of all experience levels and includes members interested in programming, art, design, writing, music, and more. Through workshops, panels, game jams, and networking opportunities, GAMED gives students a chance to explore different areas of the gaming industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Academic clubs are not just for studying, they can help students meet people in their field before graduation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Language & Culture Organizations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n American Sign Language (ASL) Club<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n A welcoming and inclusive club for students of all signing levels to learn and practice American Sign Language (ASL), build communication skills, and connect with others on campus. Whether you are a beginner just starting your ASL journey or an experienced signer looking to strengthen your skills, this club provides a supportive environment to learn, share, and make new friends while promoting awareness and appreciation of Deaf culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n French Club<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n A place where students can come and experience a little bit of French culture in the heart of Whitewater, Wisconsin. Students don\u2019t have to know the language in order to join. French music, films, and activities are always happening!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Spanish Club<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Their mission is to create a supportive and engaging environment where students can actively develop their Spanish language skills. Through conversation, activities, and real-world practice, we aim to make learning Spanish accessible, interactive, and enjoyable while connecting it to Hispanic cultures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Language organizations are a great option for students who want to continue practicing a language while connecting with others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Health, Wellness, and Support Organizations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n ACTIVE<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n ACTIVE is a great organization for students interested in health, physical education, human performance, recreation, coaching, or other related career fields. The organization focuses on helping students grow professionally by providing opportunities to learn more about their future careers and connect with others who share similar interests. Joining ACTIVE can be a great way to build connections, gain experience, and learn more about different career paths outside of the classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Warhawk Marathon Club<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n The UWW Marathon Club brings together students who enjoy running and want to challenge themselves through marathon training. We provide a supportive community where runners can train together, stay motivated, and work toward their goals while building friendships and promoting a love for running.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Active Minds<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Their mission is to create a supportive community where members can learn about mental health, suicide prevention, and ways to support themselves and others. Through education, activities, and connection with peers, we aim to promote awareness, coping skills, and a safe environment for personal growth and well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Get involved with these organizations to support your health, build connections, and grow as a member of the Warhawk community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Cultural & Identity Organizations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Black Student Union<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Their mission is to support and encourage Black students at the University of Wisconsin\u2013Whitewater by creating a welcoming community, promoting cultural awareness, and providing opportunities for personal, academic, and professional growth. We aim to help students build connections, develop their skills, and address social, cultural, and educational challenges together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Impact<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n IMPACT is dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive community for LGBTQIA+ students and allies at the University of Wisconsin\u2013Whitewater. Through education, advocacy, social activities, and support, the organization works to promote acceptance, celebrate diverse identities, and help students build meaningful connections on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
