So, as\nquarantine comes to an end and people start to plan camping trips, I have\ncreated a list of the top Wisconsin State Parks, based on my own personal\nexperience and research. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note, that to enter some state parks, a state park pass\nor a fee at the entrance may apply (a yearly Wisconsin State Park pass will\nrange from $28-$38 depending on resident status, and a daily fee is typically\n$10-$15 depending on residence). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you choose to spend the weekend, weekend fees will apply\n(usually around $15-$35 per night) and reservations can be made online the day\nof, however it is recommended that you reserve a campsite at least the week\nbefore your planned stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;It is also important\nto remember the CDC recommends social distancing measures and to go to the\nWisconsin DNR website (<a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.wi.gov\/covid-19\/\">https:\/\/dnr.wi.gov\/covid-19\/<\/a>)\nto educate yourself on rules and regulations that may apply during this time. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a list of the top state parks to visit in Wisconsin,\nalong with a little information about each one and drive time from\nUW-Whitewater. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Devil\u2019s Lake State Park: Baraboo, WI. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/ucinfo\/files\/2020\/06\/devils-lake-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7757\" width=\"397\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/ucinfo\/files\/2020\/06\/devils-lake-2.jpg 318w, https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/ucinfo\/files\/2020\/06\/devils-lake-2-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 397px) 100vw, 397px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Website: &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.wi.gov\/topic\/parks\/name\/devilslake\/\">https:\/\/dnr.wi.gov\/topic\/parks\/name\/devilslake\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Devil\u2019s Lake is one of the best-known state\nparks in Wisconsin and offers a lot of outdoor activities to enjoy. Devil\u2019s\nLake is best known for its beautiful bluff views over the lake and has rustic\ncabins you can stay in for the weekend. People may also know about Devil\u2019s Lake\nState Park because of its famous landmark of Pewit\u2019s Nest, which serves as a\ncommon area for swimming and photography. This state park is about a 1 hr. 34\nmin. drive from UW-Whitewater. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Kettle Moraine State Forest- Southern Unit:\nEagle, WI<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/ucinfo\/files\/2020\/06\/KM.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7758\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Website: <a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.wi.gov\/topic\/parks\/name\/kms\/\">https:\/\/dnr.wi.gov\/topic\/parks\/name\/kms\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kettle Moraine State Forest is another well-known\nstate park in Wisconsin. It covers over 55,000 acres and spans across southern\nWisconsin, making it an easily accessible state park. This state park is highly\nrecommended by all its visitors, as its size allows there to be a wide variety\nof activities you can do here. The Kettle Moraine Southern Unit is in Eagle,\nWisconsin which is a short 30-minute drive from UW-Whitewater, making this the\nperfect quick getaway or day trip for college students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>High Cliff State Park: Sherwood, WI<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/ucinfo\/files\/2020\/06\/high-cliff.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7759\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Website: <a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.wi.gov\/topic\/parks\/name\/highcliff\/\">https:\/\/dnr.wi.gov\/topic\/parks\/name\/highcliff\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>High Cliff State Park is known for its\namazing views that look over Lake Winnebago, the largest lake in Wisconsin. Covering\n1,147 acres, this state park offers activities ranging from fishing, to rock\nclimbing, to walks along the shore. It is about 2 hours and 10 minutes away from\nUW-Whitewater, making it the perfect distance for a weekend getaway, or for a\nday trip full of adventure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Mirror Lake State Park: Baraboo, WI<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"275\" height=\"184\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/ucinfo\/files\/2020\/06\/mirrior-lake.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7760\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Website: <a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.wi.gov\/topic\/parks\/name\/mirrorlake\/\">https:\/\/dnr.wi.gov\/topic\/parks\/name\/mirrorlake\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mirror Lake State Park offers amazing views\nof the famous sandstone bluffs you see in the Wisconsin Dells. This park is\nbest known for its fishing, and scenic kayaking. This park is about 1 hour and 30\nminutes away from UW-Whitewater, and visitors are welcome to just come for the\nday, or camp at the many campsite options that they offer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Wyalusing State Park: Wyalusing, WI<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/ucinfo\/files\/2020\/06\/wyalsuing.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7761\" width=\"301\" height=\"225\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Website: <a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.wi.gov\/topic\/parks\/name\/wyalusing\/\">https:\/\/dnr.wi.gov\/topic\/parks\/name\/wyalusing\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wyalusing State Park is located on both the\nWisconsin and Mississippi River, making it the perfect place to visit if you\u2019re\na water lover! This state park is best known for its river valley views and the\nnationally recognized Native American burial grounds that visitors can view.\nThis park is located about 2 hours and 30 minutes away from UW-Whitewater,\nmaking it a longer drive. With over twenty miles of hiking and off-road biking trails, this\npark is perfect for those who love the outdoors. This state park is located about 2 hours and 30 minutes away from\nUW-Whitewater, making it a longer drive from campus. This park is located about 3 hours away from UW-Whitewater, making it a longer drive from campus, but is worth the drive if you love hiking the bluffs that Wisconsin has to offer. However, this park has some of the most famous views that Wisconsin has\nto offer. With over eight miles of Green Bay shoreline to visit and scenic\nviews, it is common to find photographers up before sunrise to get photos at\nWelcker\u2019s Point or Eagle Tower. If you are someone who has been to the Door County\nPeninsula in the past and loved it, it is highly suggested that you make\nanother trip up to camp at this beautiful state park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, the Wisconsin State Park system\nhas a lot to offer. The list above, only covers ten of the sixty-six state\nparks that are in Wisconsin, leaving you with so much more to explore!
