But do you know WHY it is so\nimportant? If you study the word breakfast you will notice it contains: \u201cbreak\u201d and \u201cfast\u201d, which means we are breaking our fast.\nDuring our sleep our body is recovering and rejuvenating itself, which is why it is\nimportant to get enough sleep. When we wake up for the day we need to fuel our\nbody by breaking our fasting status to waken our metabolic processes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I know what you are thinking, what\u2019s in it for me? Well, as\na college student there are many benefits to eating breakfast. Here are a few:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Breakfast gives you energy first thing in the morning so you can\nbetter focus on\nyour school work<\/li><li>Breakfast improves your mood &#8211; no one likes to be \u2018hangry\u2019\nduring class<\/li><li>Breakfast prevents you from overeating. Anyone else feel like\nthey could eat an entire refrigerator if they don\u2019t eat all day?<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Breakfast options on campus:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Esker dining hall or UC Commons breakfast\nMonday- Friday<\/li><li>Drumlin dining hall on Saturday &amp; Sunday<\/li><li>Drumlin\u2019s E&amp;G has hot breakfast sandwiches<\/li><li>Most other satellite or coffee\nshop locations offer healthy grab and go for days when you need a fast,\non-the-go breakfast option<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Are you\na student living off campus?&nbsp; We have a\ncouple healthy breakfast suggestions that you can make on your own: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Eggs and Oatmeal<ul><li>One-Two eggs <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>\u00bd cup oats or Quaker instant oatmeal (preferably low sugar)<ul><li>If you choose oats feel free to add tasty ingredients to it <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Fruit of your choice <\/li><li>Yogurt Parfait <ul><li>Greek yogurt<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Blueberries and\/or bananas<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Strawberries <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Granola <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out this <strong>Sunrise Hot Cereal With Quinoa<\/strong> recipe to celebrate National Breakfast Month: <a href=\"https:\/\/uww.campus-dining.com\/february-hearth-health-month-recipe\/\">https:\/\/uww.campus-dining.com\/february-hearth-health-month-recipe\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that we\u2019ve covered breakfast, let\u2019s talk about our love for dark\nchocolate. Have you heard that eating dark chocolate has health benefits? We\naren\u2019t talking pounds of dark chocolate but hey, why not treat yourself and\nsavor the flavor!
