What will you miss most about the UC?<\/strong><\/p>\n “The thing I will miss most about the UC is by far the people. \u00a0Though I have learned and done so much in my time here, it is thanks to all of the amazing and supportive members of the UC Family that I have grown with.\u00a0They\u00a0really helped me\u00a0push\u00a0beyond my borders. \u00a0To all of the staff, professional and student, who have supported, taught, and laughed with me – thank you for all that you do.” –\u00a0Colleen (HawkCard Office)<\/p>\n “Working in the UC gave me connections to so many people and opportunities to help better my leadership, teamwork skills and communication skills. It helped\u00a0me meet others to help me grow.” – Matthew (Warhawk Alley)<\/p>\n How has working in the UC prepared you for\u00a0graduation?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n “Working as a Graphic Designer in the UC has helped me prepare for graduation because I was able to gain and improve all of the skills employers want to see in a designer. I was able to build my portfolio and be proud of what I made.” –\u00a0Heather (Graphic Designer)<\/p>\n “For me, working in different leadership roles \u00a0at Roberta’s Art Gallery, has helped me to further my career by helping to develop my organizational skills and communication skills. I have learned a lot by working from my peers; they have helped me to grow a lot in my leadership. By working as the workshop lead at Roberta’s Art Gallery, I have been able to work more on my teaching skills, since I will be graduating in the spring with my teaching degree and license in Special Education. I have also had the chance to meet artist from all over the world and that has helped me to grow, culturally and expand my understandings for diverse cultures.” – Hannah (Roberta’s Art Gallery)<\/p>\n What was your favorite part of working in the UC?<\/strong><\/p>\n “The UC allows students to get real work experience, while also providing a flexible schedule to work around classes.\u00a0 I enjoyed this aspect of the UC the most because if I had worked somewhere off campus, I would not have had the time I needed to keep up with all my classes and management might not understand why I need off for a group project or exam.\u00a0 This allowed me to focus on school while earning some extra money as well.\u00a0 Ths UC not only has a very friendly work environment, but I felt like I fit in right away in my department and was able to work the hours I was available between my classes.” – Allison (Student Porter)<\/p>\n “My favorite part about working in the UC was being able to work around so many positive and open minded people, not only within my own department, but the UC as a whole. There hasn\u2019t been a day yet that I dread going into work. That\u2019s a rare quality in a job, and it\u2019s one I will always remember.”\u00a0-Kelly Hammann (Message Design Assistant)<\/p>\n “My favorite part of working at the UC was being able to work so many different styles of events. Aside from what technical skills I learned in my job, I feel that I also learned a vast amount of things from many of the events that I worked at–such as the Creative Writing Festival, and the Veteran’s Day Ceremony.” –\u00a0Tanner (Tech Crew)<\/p>\n “My favorite part of working at the UC was working at a common gathering place for many students. It brings out a happier feel to the place, and working in that type of environment is definitely more enjoyable. Other workers at the UC were also very nice and friendly, and that definitely added to the positive environment.” \u00a0– Megan (Student Porter)<\/p>\n “My favorite part of working in the UC was knowing that everyday I came to work, I would be greeted with my friendly coworkers and supervisor. No matter what type of day I was having I could count on having a good day as soon as I stepped through the doors of UC Graphics & Marketing.” –\u00a0Kendra (Graphic Designer)<\/p>\n “My favorite thing about working in the UC is my coworkers.
