Hey Warhawks! It’s homecoming week here at UW-Whitewater and I am sure you all are super excited for the rest of the festivities! The homecoming game is this\u00a0Saturday, and there are a few key pieces of information you should know before you head out for tailgating:<\/p>\n
The biggest change this year, is that glass bottles are\u00a0not<\/strong> allowed at tailgating. UW-W police officers are making sure this is an easy transition for students, family members, community members and whomever else joins in on the tailgating fun. Police officers are equipped with many plastic cups to hand out to people if they have glass bottles. Click here<\/a> for an interview done with Chief of Police Matthew Kiederlen regarding the new rule.<\/p>\n Also, keep in mind that your group is not the only group tailgating. Be cautious and courteous to other people. There are many times where there are open flames from grills or parking lot bonfires. Be on the look-out as your throwing the football around or tossing bags. It’s a great atmosphere; just be mindful of your surroundings.<\/p>\n With this Saturday’s game falling on Halloween, it is very likely the excitement will be bigger than ever. Be sure to be safe, and if you choose to drink, be sure that you are of the legal age to do so and that you are not planning on driving home from the game.<\/p>\n Please take a look\u00a0at the rest of the rules regarding tailgating.
