With the semester over, summer is finally here! Perfect time for beaches, outdoor adventures, campfires, etc. You’ll want to make sure that you’re staying hydrated, and this craft is perfect for that! This quick craft is a perfect way to customize your own water bottle for the summer.

Disclaimer:

Only do this craft outside because it involves spray paint!

Necessities:

  • Stainless steel/Aluminum water bottle
  • Spray paint
  • Big plastic bin
  • Water

Step 1:

Gather your large bin you don’t mind getting stained with spray paint. Once you’ve picked one out, fill it about half way up with water!

Step 2:

Spray your spray paint color onto the surface of the water. I held my can about 6 inches from the water. Make sure that there is a thin layer of paint covering the water.

Step 3:

To ensure you get a marbled look on your water bottle, take a pencil and twirl it lightly in a circular motion in the water.

Step 4:

Take your water bottle, and while holding it horizontally start to twirl/spin your water bottle so that the spray paint sticks to your water bottle. Do not submerge your bottle into the water, but rather have it touch the surface/the spray paint.

Step 5:

Make sure to get your whole water bottle covered in paint. Then, you’re done! Let this dry outside for 24 hours. Reminder, it is important to do this craft outside because it involves spray paint. Once dry, for extra protection, go over your water bottle with some mod podge or other liquid coating.

Now you have your own custom-made water bottle just in time for the summer! You can easily do this craft with your friends as a fun summer activity, or do it alone and have your friends ask you where you got it! As always, just keep crafting!
