Jump on the content creator bandwagon and don’t let go

Hanging out with the popular crowd isn’t always a good thing

…but in the social media world it most definitely is. In order to stay up on the latest trends you have to find what is getting the most engagement and attraction, find out how you can also do it, and don’t look back. You have to be bold and embrace new things. You know what they say about how the most growth happens outside of your comfort zone? Well, that the same for social media and influencer marketing. So, let’s take a look at what’s trending so you can learn how to implement it in your own brand’s content-both personal and professional.

VIDEOS

It seems like consumers would rather watch a video than scroll past a post. Social media has become a place of entertainment, not just a place to connect with friends. As influencers all around the world gain popularity, we see that people like to follow the lives of people they may not even know. Why? For entertainment. I am part of Gen Z and I know that from my friends and classmates that fewer people are watching TV and more people are turning to Tik Tok, Youtube, and Instagram Reels for their nightly entertainment.

Okay, so I understand videos are popular…but what kind?

When I think of online video content, two major categories come to mind. First, I think of TikTok dances/trends and the other I think of is Vlogs. Whether you are drinking cranberry juice as you are being pulled along by a car vibing to Dreams by Fleetwood Mac or filming the day in the life of a college student, people want to see. Vlogs, or video blogs, are being just as important to people as TV is and in my opinion, is another way of creating your own reality TV show.

Try it out!

I’ve given you a few ideas, now try them out! You don’t have to run a professional account to do this either. Try to build your personal brand by hopping on the bandwagon and see where it takes you. You might just surprise yourself.

    Anna,
I have had experience in making videos, both on TikTok and YouTube vlogs, before. I also enjoy watching both kinds of these videos, but especially vlogs. I feel like I know some of my favorite vloggers pretty well after watching their life through video over six months. I enjoyed the process of making the two vlogs I did and I will try to make more of them. The one thing about blogging though is: it takes a lot of time. But YouTube I feel like is becoming the most popular social media platform, so vloging is going to be even more important moving forward.

    Hi Anna,
I love how you are trying to implement what things are trending online today. Hi Anna!
I can definitely attest to watching more video content rather than watching TV. Especially since quarantine, Tik Tok has been my go-to for quick entertainment. Blogs, on the other hand, are another go-to for entertainment! I find myself watching my favorite YouTubers blogs or “day in the life” while I’m cleaning my room, doing laundry, or even getting ready for the day. Opening the YouTube app on my phone is much easier than turning on the TV and trying to find a channel. Thank you for sharing!
